The end is near, June 24, 2003
This review is from: Survival (Remnants #13) (Mass Market Paperback)
All good things must come to an end. Well, this good thing may not be so good any more. As you all probably know, book number 13- Survival- is the second to last book in the remnants series. Now that we got that out of the way, we can move on to the plot. Since the large portion of the Remnants were stranded on earth, we haven't heard anything about what ever happened to Tate, Yago and the Troika. Well, they're the center of attention this time around. I don't want to give too much away, so I will stick to basics. The three members of the Troika are mutating into 'higher' life forms, and they need food- and lots of it. Soon it becomes that Tate and Yago are the only things left on Mother, so you can assume what they try to do. Well, that backfires, and with Tat going 'Mouth' all the time, your never sure what's next. Ah, can't say much more. A few people die - unmeaningful deaths in my opinion, but we'll see in the next book. Some of you like myself were fans of K.A.Applegate's previous series, Animorphs, which I myself also loved, until the ending. We shall soon see how Remnants will end, and lets all hope it's something better than before. Hope this helped, And good luck.

A sad and touching book, the best Remnants yet..., July 8, 2003
This review is from: Survival (Remnants #13) (Mass Market Paperback)
After the last 3 books in this series turned out to be a little dissapointing, especially after how good number 9 was, I was positive this book would be much better. Ang guess what? I was right. In this one Tate is stuck on Mother with the Troika and Yago, who were trying to eat her.(Just the Troika, not Yago.) I won't say any more, because I'd really spoil the book for those who haven't read it, but I will say this: this book was much more about charecter development and as a build up to the conclusion than any others. Charecters actually changed in a good way by the end of the book, and because there are only a handful of charecters it was much more indepth all around. In fact, by the end of the book I actually liked Yago!!! That's a miracle in of itself. Even Amelia wasn't so bad by the end. And the ending is a little confusing, but very sad and touching. And don't worry, the otherson earth haven't left the story entirely, thaks to some mysterious, possibly prophetic dreams Tate has through the whole book. This book is a return to the kind of style that made books like The last books of Everworld and Animorphs so good. I only gave this 4 stars because of the confusing ending, and what appears to be some hasty writing. All I can say is, even if you're not a Remnants fan, you'll like this book.

A Kid's Review
This review is from: Survival (Remnants #13) (Mass Market Paperback)
I won't only write about Survivor, I write about the series. In truth, i have never read a better series. With these books, you begin to understand the lives of Mo'steel, 2Face, Jobs, and even Yago. I just wanted to say that if KA or some deranged Animorphs fan is reading this,WAAB! What An Awesome Book!
