1.0 out of 5 stars This book's not what its title might suggest April 23, 2011

This is a sci-fi novel about guys surviving on an uninhabited jungle planet. It's not a how-to handbook on survival--although it's associated with books like this within Kindle.

1.0 out of 5 stars Wasn't what it appeared to be. January 2, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I thought it was going to be a TEOTWAWKI book, full of advice on surviving catastrophe. Instead it turned out to be some kind of short story that I didn't bother wasting my time to read. You can't judge a book by it's title.

5.0 out of 5 stars Classic Sci-fi not Survival Guide February 15, 2012
By Endy
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
If you're into classic science fiction this book is decent, otherwise this isn't for you.

*Plot*

They are happily colonizing this alien planet and the IT guy has a brilliant idea.

Why not just wipe out most of the alien wildlife with killer robots? PETA be damned, we've got a planet to colonize here.

So this IT guy sets them to it, with the robots using brain waves to track the animals. Unfortunately this genius forgot to add humans to the exceptions list and is promptly killed for his shortsightedness.

Then it's up to Joe Everyman to save the day.

the tech charmingly outdated, but overall this was a pretty good read.

2.0 out of 5 stars Short story February 5, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
So, this is called "survival tactics" and it is work of fiction. Considering I was looking for books on actual survival it was a little disappointing. Otherwise it's a reasonable little story.

4.0 out of 5 stars Short story February 16, 2014

Just a short story in the vein of older magazine novellas. Not much to the story and it is quite simple.

4.0 out of 5 stars ok FICTIONAL story December 28, 2013

I'd like to know why people look at the title of a book that's listed under fiction and assume it's factual. It's an ok fictional short story. Know what you're buying before you buy it.

Not interesting. Not what you think it will be. Very boring and completely vague. Please don't waste your time with this.

3.0 out of 5 stars for survival
I found this book to be mostly a compilation of previously read material that was similar. Much of it common sense.
