Joseph Bruchac is a highly acclaimed Abenaki children's book author, poet, novelist and storyteller, as well as a scholar of Native American culture. Wonderful poems and interviews exploring oral tradition and poetry, and staying grounded in Native American culture in the midst of the modern world. Includes a good sampling of contemporary writers, including the prolific Paula Gunn Allen, and N. Scott Momaday, author of the classic House Made of Dawn. One of my all-time favorites.
