Book Description

This is a powerful story of an 18 year-old Jewish girl in Poland in 1939 who jumps off a crowded train heading for the crematorium, and survives with courage and determination through three concentration camps until finally liberated in 1945. She recovers in Sweden, moves on to Paris, New York and now, at age 91, lives in Ann Arbor, Michigan. That she survived the horror is a testimony to her strength, her will to survive, and her ability to move fast. It is also a miracle.

5.0 out of 5 stars Stunningly realistic January 30, 2013
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
This is a lightlly edited series of transcripts of an old woman who barely survived five years in Nazi concentration camps, while losing all of her family. Gritty, and repetitive but starkly realistic, it is the tragic history of what happened in Germany during her life time. A compelling but not entertaining reading told in simple personal remembrances of a young girl coming of age while enduring the worst the Nazi's could do to her and her family.

4.0 out of 5 stars Incredible Saga March 12, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
A very brave girl, who many times, escapes with her life. The narrative is often hard to follow, due to translation issues. But the true story is worth it.

3.0 out of 5 stars I Have to Survive May 24, 2013

This book seemed to jump around quite a bit and the timeline got a little confusing. I do like that the verbage was pretty much unedited.
