This book is full of practical advice for every field. We must take charge of our own career and it is obvious that the author has seen a lot of real world situations that he has learned from. He has put great thought into how these experiences can help us all. If you are looking for good sound advice to help you succeed, this is a must read!

This book does a fine job in revealing the sometimes ugly underbelly of the corporate world. Most folks play by the rules and never fully understand the games that employers play to place them at a disadvantage. Follow the authors advice and turn the odds in your favor. From my own 35+ years in the corporate environment I can attest to the clarity of this advice and the sometimes unfair realities of the work place. Using these tips can only aid your quest for employment.

I read this book after it was recommended by a friend and was amazed at how insightful it is. I felt compelled to write a review. I was recently "down sized" my company after 12 years and was struggling to make up ground in getting a new job. After reading how I could improve my job hunting approach, I worked hard to follow Mr. Perry's tips. I feel like I became more competitive and actually received multiple job offers. I am now happily employed again and it's like a huge weight has been lifted off my shoulders!!!
This book also gives guidelines on dealing with management / leadership and even your company HR department. The author seems to have had many different experiences that he shares with you. I now have a different perspective on dealing management and practice more caution. For me, it is like I am seeing the big picture now. I feel more comfortable at work because I know what is truly going on.

I found this book to be extremely inciteful. It helps you get the edge and land that needed job or promotion, and simplifies the challenges of unemployment with helpful websites. The author has "Been there, done that", and has good hands-on advice. As practical as Dave Ramsey, and as good as its cover promises.

This book makes a lot of sense to situations that I was not clear on at work. I am always trying to get a better understanding on how businesses work. That is exactly what the author of this book covers. He gives you the ins and outs of Corporate America, what to look for, what this or that situation really means, and how to excel.
The author brings humor to his explanations, which makes the reading that much more enjoyable. I believe that I gained a lot of insight from reading this book. I am recommending it to all of my friends!
