5.0 out of 5 stars Riveting!
"Survivng Babylon" is a compelling documentation of betrayal, survival, and the beautiful evolution of a soul. It is a page turner that fuels the reader with an enormous sense of hope and empowerment. "Surviving Babylon" is truly a must read not only for abuse survivors, but also for those who want to understand the survivor.

I struggled to read this book because I knew what was going to happen on the next page. This led to my own exploration of childhood memories and found out why I knew what was going to happen. This book changed my life.

"Surviving Babylon" changed, and very possibly saved my life. The story of this courageous woman gave me the impetus to face my own demons. Now, after therapy and EMDR, I have been released from the prison of my shame that I had been in all my life, to finally start living.

5.0 out of 5 stars An Inspiring journey for all survivors!, July 30, 2006

This review is from: Surviving Babylon: A Journey Through Repressed Memories of Sexual Abuse (Paperback)
This is a great book, a great read for anyone! It's well written and the journal entries are so interesting too. Such an inspiring story of a strong and courageous woman's horrific journey, all the twists and turns and new discoveries everyday through therapy and EMDR. (Because of this book I considered going to counseling and having EMDR to help with my trauma)

I've learned quite afew things from this book, thank you and well done Lexa!

5.0 out of 5 stars A True Tale of Courage and Strength, May 5, 2006
This review is from: Surviving Babylon: A Journey Through Repressed Memories of Sexual Abuse (Paperback)
This book is powerful and inspiring. You'll have one of two reactions; either you won't be able to put it down or you'll be so disturbed by what this child went through, you'll have to put it down and break from it. The fact that she made it out of her teenage years alive is a miracle in itself, but for her to have become the incredible mother, sister, friend and person that she has, is an affirmation of what we are capable of when we set are minds to it. She is an inspiration to anyone who has suffered abuse.

This was an amazing book that will benefit victims of all abuse and the people who care for them. The author connects with the reader through candid and descriptive writing. The message the book delivers is great; How difficult the healing process is but how a person can become stronger through it!
