I Can't Say Enough!, October 5, 2001
This review is from: Surviving the Heartbreak of Choosing Death for Your Pet (Paperback)
This book was extremely helpful! Having to choose death for my best friend of 20 years was incredibly painful and brought feelings of guilt, despair, relief and depression. At the time, I felt I might just be loosing my mind. This book helped me work through all of my feelings. It gave me a peaceful feeling. It let me know, that I was not alone. There are a number of useful references in the back. I really can't recommend this book enough. I was so helped by this book that I have since made it available to my local vets office. Thank you to the author. For anyone considering this book. Buy It. It will help.

This book was difficult to read right after I made the decision to have my best friend put to sleep, so I had to wait for a couple of months. When I did finally pick it up (a gift from a friend), I could feel my chest lose its tightness, and a sense of calm come over me. There is an incredible sense of guilt associated with making this choice for your friend. This book helped lift this guilt and replace it with a sense of peace. Thanks, Linda.

For me, I wish I had known about this book before I put my pet to rest. Fortunate for me, I did many of the things that are recommended in the book, e.g., talk to your pet about putting him to rest. I would recommend this book mostly for people trying to make the decision, before they decide to put their pet to rest. It gets down to the details in an acceptable manner. If you read this after the fact, it may upset you more because it is then too late to go back and change the way you did things or your choice. In any case, I would recommend it. It's the real deal that some of have to face at some point. Of course there are no books, no words, no actions that will ever take away the heartache of losing your pet no matter how.
