Surviving Leukemia book review, November 9, 2010
This review is from: Surviving Leukemia: A Practical Guide (Your Personal Health) (Paperback)
This book is about Dr. Robert Patenaude, whos was diagnosed with leukemia. The book is a first-person account of what he went through and how it affected him. It talks about how he leaerned that he had the disease while he was in medical school and what he went through with his chemotherapy and bone marrow transplant. It talks about how he coped with the emotional pains of going through leukemia treatment. He then describes the circulatory system, blood cells, bone marrow, blood clot formation and what it does in the body and how it relates to leukemia.
I believe that it was a good book. It gives a first-hand account of what patients with leukemia go through and it gives a lot of information about leukemia using easy to understand terminology. This book made me realize how much it takes to deal with the emotional and physical pains of leukemia.
