Author Tim B. Ward never thought he would be a writer. A 2003 graduate of the University of Delaware with a degree in Food Science and Technology, Tim had always planned to work in a lab, and was more than happy working in research and development for the flavor industry. His plans were brought to a hault in 2007 when he was diagnosed with a Grade II Astrocytoma brain tumor in his right parietal lobe. Stunned by the diagnosis, Tim felt crushed and hopeless. His fight was not easy, but he and his doctors took the fight to the tumor. Through the fight, Tim nearly died numerous times, and was left with partial epilepsy. Now, proudly in remission, Tim spends his time trying to help those struggling, whether it be physical struggles like epilepsy or brain cancer, or emotional struggles.
Tim's first book, "Surviving and Thriving: A Brain Tumor Survivor's Story," details vividly his story of the war he had with forces in his own body. Dark images are laid out that describe his bitterness and depression, all while struggling with his faith. It is only when he discovers purpose and a want for life that he accepts and strives for a better future.
