I have enjoyed this book twice already. The first time through it is a great read with a plot and parable being the first thing noticed and business lessons the second level. Upon review the business lessons pop off the page and a deeper understanding of myself and others started to form. I recommend this book to anyone looking to grow as an individual or become more of a business leader. It is highly readable, very enjoyable and wonderfully informative!

Eighteen years ago Stefan Swanepoel flew Ann and me to South Africa and squired us around the country where I spoke to over 5000 real estate professionals over two weeks in five cities including Johannesburg, Cape Town, Pretoria, Durban and Port Elizabeth. and then on to Sun City and most importantly to this note to the magnificent wildlife preserve Sabi Sabi when we came face to face with the "Big Five" in the wild.

Today Stefan, the author of innumerable real estate best sellers, has ventured out to the general public with his release of his life changing book "Surviving Your Serengeti" and as I write this note it stands at #5 on the Amazon bestseller list.

I just finished reading this masterpiece -- and I don't use that word lightly. I find it hard to believe that Stefan could shift from real estate trends and business books to such a delightful, interesting, gripping and fun to read book.

I'm suggesting that you help make a difference in Stefan's life and pick up a copy at the stores or online this week. Not only will you be supporting a huge friend of the Real Estate Industryand reading a book that is a life changer but you will also be giving back to the wildlife as a part of the proceeds of every sale will be donated to the Africa Wildlife Foundation.

Enjoy this book in good health!

Kindest regards

Jack

What a great book, I was totally engaged from start to finish. I could not wait to see how I fit in to the jungle. Throughout the reading I kept seeing some of my TEAM members and picturing how they behaved like certain animals.

Surviving Your Serengeti is set in East Africa, where Stefan lived. It was on a journey back that he started to observe the wild and their behavior. In business, we also have many challenges to surviving. Knowing our inner selves and how we respond to difficult situations, and challenges is a good guide to our future successes.

Being an enterprising crocodile, I saw my passion come through in the crocodile, and my desire to succeed summed me up perfectly. Surviving Your Serengeti: 7 Skills to Master Business and Life

Definitely recommend this book!

Crushing your business by being a trust agent on your way to your business' tipping point may happen in a blink, but you will definitely be an outlier. To be that outlier, do you know what your predominant skill set is in life?

Often, nature provides powerful examples of life simply persevering and enduring. Stefan Swanepoel, a noted author and speaker brings us a book that uses a safari on the Serengeti as a stage to show how the traits of seven animals are reflected in our lives.

I was fortunate enough to receive an advanced copy of Surviving Your Serengeti recently. Upon reading Stefan's fable of a safari on the Serengeti, drawn from his personal experience, I find myself itching to get to the Serengeti to see these animals and their traits first hand. Stefan paints a vivid picture of each animal, their traits and how these traits are reflected in how we go about our lives. It is these traits that we will recognize in ourselves and see as our predominant form of enduring and persevering.

You can find out which predominant animal's traits you have by taking the "What Animal Am I?" quiz.

Fables may well be among the earliest forms of storytelling and remain popular among several business thinkers, notably Eliyahu M. Goldratt, Stephen Denning, and Patrick Lencione. Personally, I have little interest in locating cheese or coping with melting icebergs but I always enjoy a tale well-told and that is what Stefan Swanepoel offers in this slim volume. Its protagonist is Sean Spencer, a corporate executive from Los Angeles. He and his wife Ashley are joined by Dave and Mary Johnson from Montana, Anthony and Cecilia Cruz, and Zachariah Makena whom Spencer knew 30 years ago and hasn't seen since, until now. They begin African safari led by their guide Raymond. Plot developments are best revealed within the narrative. My focus now is on what I admire most about the material provided.

First, as indicated earlier, Swanepoel is a skillful raconteur. He sets the scene, introduces the characters, sets the plot in motion, and uses both dialog and incidents to illustrate what he hopes his fable will affirm: Everyone can survive his her own personal Serengeti, no matter the challenges. No journey is ever too long. Nothing is impossible."

Also, I think the seven survival skills "to master business and life" are appropriate to the context within which he examines them, the plains of the Serengeti, and to the animals that exemplify those skills: the wildebeest ("Endurance is the steadfast capacity to hold on for one more day."), the lion ("Strategy is the road map you need to define and achieve your goals."), the crocodile ("An enterprising person explores all options and boldly seizes every opportunity."), the cheetah ("Efficiency is the optimization of all resources to achieve the best results."), the giraffe ("Grace is more than style and finesse, it's doing the right thing.
