I'm On Board Now!, April 18, 2008
This review is from: Survivor 4 Pack (Borneo / The Australian Outback / All-Stars / Pearl Islands) (DVD)
I love listening in on other people's conversations (the juicy ones!), so I don't know why it took me so long to discover how much fun it is to watch Survivor. I fell in love with Amazing Race a few years ago and thought I'd probably like Survivor as well. So I bought this 4-pack and I loved every minute! I watched them without commentary first, then re-watched with the commentary on. It was a kick listening to them watching themselves and making comments about what happened or what they were feeling or dishing on other survivors. I loved them all, but Rupert made Pearl Islands and All-Stars extremely entertaining.

Awesome Four-Pack., January 1, 2009
This review is from: Survivor 4 Pack (Borneo / The Australian Outback / All-Stars / Pearl Islands) (DVD)
This four-pack contains the complete and unedited episodes from each season, just as we saw them on TV, but without commercials. Some of the tracks give you the option of listening to commentaries by various survivors. They watch the episode along with you while commenting on behind the scenes stuff and what they were thinking and feeling at that time. The color is crisp and sharp. The sound is perfect. You couldn't ask for better quality.
Included in the Survivor Borneo pack is a bonus DVD of never-before-seen-footage. I haven't watched this one yet, but there's a ton of stuff listed on the back of the case, including survivor profiles, terrain, inside the phenomenon and a bunch of other interesting topics. It also has three featurettes (not seen yet) "Survivors leaving L.A and Arrive in Borneo", The Late Show Dave Lettermen Top Ten featuring the Survivors, A Look Back at Richard, Rudy and Gervase. Each disc has it's own unique case. Contains five cases and discs.
The Outback has extra features, commentaries and other delightful bonuses, including "Home From the Outback". Other special features include a look at their luxury items, why they chose them and how they used them. Chef Keith prepares a step-by-step paella in his own kitchen. There's a bonus disc of The Greatest and Most Outrageous Moments. Each disc has it's own unique case. Contains six cases and discs.
All Stars, same thing. Bonuses, bonuses, bonuses, plus an extra disc with behind the scenes stuff, an anthology with the All Stars, Casting the Survivors, Survivor profiles, a collection of the promos used for TV, and more. Each disc has it's own unique case. Contains seven cases and discs.
Pearl Islands is a smaller set with only three plastic cases with five discs. After looking at the plump and stuffed other seasons I feel cheated before I open it. It contains all the episodes, but lacks the "extras" of the other three. I haven't watched it yet as I'm still enjoying season two. The special features listed on the discs are "Game Strategies", Pirate's Tales (recaps and interviews with cast and crew) and Cast commentaries by various cast members on five episodes. Certainly not as loaded with bonuses as Borneo, Outback and All-Stars.
All packages include the reunion.

WOW- What a box set!, January 13, 2008
This review is from: Survivor 4 Pack (Borneo / The Australian Outback / All-Stars / Pearl Islands) (DVD)
This 4-pack Survivor DVD is great! However, if they could add Survivor:Africa, Amazon, and Marquesas, it would be even better!
I can say that I really don't care for the first season, though the one plus is that it was the most "real" of all the seasons. The Outback is the best cast, in my opinion. All Stars and Pearl Islands are also excellent.
I think there should be a DVD of the Best of the Worst: all the ones you love to hate and all the scheming they did.
