I was skeptical about purchasing this case, until I watched some youtube videos for this product. The Griffen tech [...] holds the case w/phone in a handheld carwash while applying the hot wax foam that shoots out of the carwash gun. The phone remains dry and fully functional. Next video shows the Griffen tech dragging the phone w/case on a motorcycle going 40+ miles a hour without breaking the phone. I love this case, it has a protective screen and is fully protected from the elements (i.e. wind, water). The case is military grade and tested, and you can tell.I was afraid that it was going to be bulky, but it isn't too bad, the trade-off is the extra protection. I was so impressed that I bought one for my husband and brother, both who frequently drop their phones. Check them out on youtube, if you don't buy this case after seeing the videos you're crazy!!!

i don't understand why everyone with an IPHONE doesn't buy this thing. yes it is a little bulky, but you know unless you absolutely know you never going to drop your phone on the ground, water, or beach sand, you must get this cover, I have two, a black one and a pink one for my wife..

I purchased the Griffin Survivor case for iPhone after reading many product reviews and determining that this case provided the best protection at a reasonable cost. I am impressed by the solid front of the case which eliminates the need for those ridiculous screen protectors which always seem to get bubbles under them or curl up on the edges. You could actually spill water on the case without it getting inside. The case contains flaps which close tightly over all openings on the phone. It also comes with a sturdy belt clip, but the phone can't be charged with the belt clip on, and I've already misplaced mine.

My only complaint about the case (and this is significant) is that neither my Bose headphones nor my Etymotic earbuds work with it. Both of these headphones have an L-shaped connector which inserts into the top of the iPhone. The plastic which is underneath the rubber exterior of the case extends up too high, preventing the earphones from being inserted all the way into the phone. (I realize that this design is to enable the flap to close tightly over the earphone jack when the earphones are not in use.) The only earphones that work with the case are those with a straight connector such as the earbuds that come with the iPhone. I purchased Skullcandy earbuds which work well. I realize it would have been cheaper to buy a different case, but the protection afforded by the case seems to outweigh the cost of the earbuds.

I was going to complain about the flap that covers the camera lens and the fact that I had to hold it out of the way when using the camera. However, I realized after reading another review that Griffin had actually addressed this issue by putting a tab on the flap which inserts into an indenture in the case and holds it back while using the camera.

Well when I recieved this item in the mail I immediately knew it wasn't a real griffin defender case. So I emailed the seller, told them about the defect and then I sent it back. Terrible case, I've had a bunch of griffin cases for my iPhone and I was so disappointed when this one wasn't real. But the good news is that the seller worked with me and I was able to send it back.

I was looking for a case that would do what it is supposed to do - protect my phone if it got bumped or dropped. The "fashionable" hard plastic cases may look good, but they shatter and break when you drop the phone. Gosh knows what happens to the phone then! This case protects against dropping AND has a bright pink color to really stand out. If you want a streamlined look, this does not fit the bill, but it does the job. The belt clip is quite functional. Please note that it is meant to SNAP and clip tightly around an actual belt, so if you think it will be an open-ended, tight-fitting clip to slide onto your pocket, spring-loaded, be aware of this. It does still clip on without snapping it closed, just not tightly. The cool thing is that there are actually 2 cases that make up its protective capabilities. There is a hard black case with a protective hard screen cover built into it (no more costly screen protector sheets with air bubbles), then an outer rubber case. Finally, the clip fits over that. I'm glad my new iPhone is "Pretty in Pink!"

I purchased this product after I broke the glass on my Iphone, and I needed something to insure that it wouldn't happen again. I have two kids (Boy-4, girl-1) who love my phone and my son loves to play games on it, but he sometimes drops it. My one year old loves either throw it, drop it, bit it, etc. So this case was perfect for me!!! When we got it my husband said "does it work?" and chucked it across the room, thank God it made it. I also had a friend of mine whose daughter dropped it out their 9 story window and her phone was untouched!!!! I love this case, very durable!!!!!!! My only complaint is that if I want to dock my Iphone, I have to remove the case because it doesn't fit. However not having to pay another $200 to fix my phone is so worth it.

as described, very tough and pink. bulky, but what did you expect. if you want to protect your iPhone from kids, drops or run over by a car, this is it. one thing, if you want to take a picture, have to flip cover manually and hold with one finger, annoying, but then again protects lens.
