My son loves this case for his ipod touch!!

I like the case but it's a struggle to get the ports open to charge it or use the headphone jack.

I've dropped my iPod with this case several times and it has protected it well.

I have used this case in Afghanistan. When my iPod dropped off a 200 foot mountain this case protected my iPod without any damage to it. The clip is a little week but other than that this is a great product!

In my opinion this case is better than an otterbox. For instance, it comes with a camera flap (I think its a good feature), Clip (acts like a stand)and is somewhat waterproof. The amount of protection rivals that of the otterbox. The whole thing fits together perfectly.
My only complaint is the headphone flap is kinda hard to open at first.

I have the Survivor case for my Verizon iPhone and have been using it for a couple of weeks. Here is what I found:

The good: It will protect your phone, no doubt. My phone has fallen from waist height several times and spent an hour in a half inch puddle on a rainy night in a parking lot without showing any ill effects. 4.5 stars for protection (being water resistant rather than water proof is the missing half a star)

The bad: The camera flap. Ugh. My iPhone having friends scoffed when I said I didn't plan on using the camera function of the phone much. The camera on my Blackberry was awful, and I just got along without it using point and shoots when I needed. They told me the camera is pretty decent on the iPhone, and I will want to use it. I didn't believe them and bought the Survivor case knowing full well that using the camera would be a pain. Well, I like the camera and would like to use it more, BUT the flap covers the lens and flash and is somewhat challenging to open. More important, it is moderately challenging to keep open and prevent from blurring the bottom right corner of my photos. If you want to snap a photo of a building or a landscape, there won't be any issues, but I'll use my SLR for that anyway. Trying to get your camera out to snap a photo of the famed Chupacabra before it runs into the underbrush? Yeah, not so much. Even if you manage to get a shot of the thing, the rush it took to prepare the phone will make a quality photo nearly impossible. Not interested in hunting mythical beasts? Your kid doing the cutest thing ever will be equally impossible to get. The hard case doesn't have a screen to protect the lens, so cutting off the flap will result in a serious access point for dust and water to get to the phone itself. I would not recommend doing this.

Bought the black Griffin Survivor and I am very impressed. Yes it's a bit bulkier than the Otterbox Defender but that's due to it providing more protection. No to one of the bigger complaints about the Survivor...the back camera flap. It took me about 30 seconds to figure out what that little cut out on the back of the case(left side just above the middle grip) is to secure the camera flap so it stays out of the way while filming or taking photos. So that's the biggest complaint down next is the belt clip. While I haven't clipped it on and say gone for a hard run to test it, I have clipped it in and shook the hell out of it for 30 seconds. It didn't budge a inch during the shaking and some may argue that's not that long, well try it first. The belt clip in my opinion would hold for a run though not sure if it would if say running very hard but then again people who run with their iphone/ipod usually get a armband or something else to hold their gear. The belt clip(any belt clip) is really only for walking or at best briefly moving fast. So that's that. Unless you're in jeans or pants with small pockets it fits fine inside a pocket and is removed easily. Unlike another reviewer I have no problem with dust and I live in arizona which if you don't know is pretty much a desert so lot's and lot's of dirt and dust. There is no problem cleaning ANY part of it if dust gets on it nor is it hard to clean in the slightest. Either a quick wipe of a cloth or just blowing on the screen removed the dust easily. As to size and weight it does make it a bit heavier and about 1/4 of a inch bigger but that's actually a plus. Why you may ask? I've read other reviews of cases with belt clips and them not noticing when their phone/pod fell out or just off.Read more ›

This Griffin Survivor line for iPods, iPhones, and iPads is the best out there! Better than the Otterbox Defender and Ballistic HC, I have had both for the iPhone4. These cases are durable and offer the best protection out there. The built in screen protector fits tightly against the screen for optimum touch response from the device and eliminates the need for those sticky and annoying screen protectors that sell for $10 for two. I have had them for about nine months and have no problems. My only little complaint is that the clip should be a little more sturdy. Not a great case is you want to keep your device in your pocket, but that can be said for any silicone covered mobile device.

Really sturdy case, you can't find anything better out there right now.

I think this was designed with the military in mind, keeps out dust, moisture and the clip so far is really solid (despite the other reviews). If I were deployed somewhere like Iraq/Pakistan where it's really dusty/dirty I'd want this case.
I've been in the middle east and no matter what you do, if you're a soldier, you're dirty. An ipod touch is probably the most precious thing (other than a weapon) that a soldier has, it's got thier videos/pictures of loved ones on it. They're going to want to keep it safe. This case will do just that.

Yes, the camera flap is a bit fiddly, but most stuff that protects this well is going to be like that. If you're not in some god-awful shithole in the middle of the desert, then just cut the flap off.
