This review is from: The Survivor Of The Holocaust (Paperback)
At the end, the author wrote, "Everyone who had a chance to read the manuscript in progress expressed disbelief that all these experiences could have happened to one person and yet he survived." This is how I felt reading this book. His will to live and his resourcefulness were amazing. What guts he had, for example, to plot and to rescue his mother from the Nazi hospital! He came so close to being killed by the Nazis so many times and managed to escape so many times. It's hard to imagine that there really are people in the world with such courage. I didn't want to read another WWII book, but I picked this one up (my wife had bought it)while waiting for my next book to arrive, and once I started it I couldn't put it down. If you can stand to hear the horrible realities, read this book.

After seeing the movie "The Pianist" I was reminded of the wonderful book "The Survivor," which I had read years ago.
I'm now re-reading it.This is the remarkable story of a courageous teenager who suffered through one of humanity's darkest hours. Perhaps God protected him so that he could share his fantastic story with the world. My prayer is 'never again' will something so horrific happen in our world.

4.0 out of 5 stars A story of suffering beyond your greatest imagination, February 10, 2000
This review is from: The Survivor Of The Holocaust (Paperback)
This is story is remarkably interesting and very horrifying at the same time. it depicts life during an awful time and tells a story of a man that has struggled more than you can believe and at times it is hard to conceive how one human could do this to another. This true story is a about a boy living in Warsaw when the German army gained control. His endurance is inhuman and it is a wonderful story about a person that is very rare and we are fortuanate to be able to hear about the injustices that occured that were beyond our control. I am a twelve year old girl that and I have read a ton about the holocaust and this should be placed withe the Diary of Anne Frank. It is definetly recomended to anyone that can deal with the tragedies of the war and the injustices.

5.0 out of 5 stars Adventure, history, and the true story of a warrior., December 10, 2002
This review is from: The Survivor Of The Holocaust (Paperback)
Jack Eisner chronicles more than his survival in this autobiography. "The Survivor of the Holocaust" is a young man's story of adventure, courage, love, and history.

If you know an adolescent who needs to read a historical perspective for school, I highly recommend this book. The adventure will keep the youngster's attention while he/she learns about the darkest chapter of the 20th century.

5.0 out of 5 stars An unforgettable memoir of a Holocaust Survivor, August 8, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: The Survivor Of The Holocaust (Paperback)
I read this book a few years ago and have recommended it to everyone interested in that incredible period of world history. It is beautifully written and absolutely amazing how this young boy escaped many horrendous events. I could only think that God had a plan and purpose for his life, perhaps to tell this story. I wonder what happened to Jack Eisner and if he's written other books.

5.0 out of 5 stars Brave man with a capital B!, January 31, 2008
This review is from: The Survivor Of The Holocaust (Paperback)
What a man! He is a real fighter and hero. At least people can see the truth about the Germans now, and can also admire such a hero whose hand of G-d made him a survivor.
This book is wonderful, it deserves to be the best book about the Holocaust. Very moving, well written, and a real story.
