The Survivors is the original name of the re-released title "Space Prison". It was my first novel, given to me at the age of 12 by one of my father's coworkers--that was 40 years ago. It remains one of my fondest memories in the world of fiction.

While short on character development, it remains an engrossing story about survival, adaptation, understanding, and ultimately revenge. What more could a reader ask for. While I've read others who point out that it lacks scientific accuracy. To that I would say, if you're reading fiction for the sake of accuracy, you've got a problem.

I would have no problem recommending this book to anyone looking for a fast paced story that's interesting and enjoyable.

Despite its age and some plot holes, this is a first rate, very readable,
and gripping science fiction classic. It is nice to see it in print again. It deserves it.

Very interesting book. Lots of good information that I hope I never have to use, but it's there if I need it.

I had not heard anything about this book but the summary was enough to convince me I had to read it. I love survival novels and I basically didn't put this down until I finished it. The book is pretty short and spans a time period of hundreds of years but the author really makes it work.

This book was very interesting and a quick read. Their was minimal character development throughout the story due to the fact that the book spans several generations. Many of the names and animals throughout the story seem out of place, almost as if the author was taking suggestions from a 5 year old (example: unicorns). The book is constantly moving the plot forward and always keeps the reader engaged and interested.

The physical book was actually printed the day that I purchased it. I suspect Amazon has an on demand printing service for some of their books. I thought this was very interesting. I was not a fan of the typeface used. The letters are formed well, but they all have circles missing from them like the letters are made out of swiss cheese. This was quite distracting since I was able to distinguish the holes in the lettering. I suspect if you can't see up close very well, you won't notice it.
