This tatting shuttle is of the type I have been looking for. I have others I bought several years ago that have the same basic design (removable bobbin and metal hook on one end). This one is good, but not as "streamlined" as my older shuttles. (The hook is not as large and the opposite end is larger than the ones I like.) It is not quite as easy to work with as my old ones, but it is much easier for me to use than the shuttles without bobbins. I would very much like to find the same kind as my older shuttles. They are grey, with the short metal hook on one end and the removable bobbin. Until I do, these are a reasonable substitute.

This shuttle is definitely not for the beginning tatter. Like a previous reviewer, I found the thread difficult to pull after winding the bobbin, because the cotton-pickin' thing refuses to turn without a fight. Also, the crochet hook gets in the way. The Lacis (purple)one I just bought over the internet was of much better quality, was easier to fill with thread, and easier to use.

Cheap really shows in these shuttles! I wound the bobbin and put it back in to use the shuttle, and the spindle doesn't even MOVE!!! How on EARTH could these shuttles be sold???? I want my money back NOW... =(

DON'T BY THESE CHEAP USELESS SHUTTLES...

Soooo disappointed, and embarrassed. I am teaching a class for beginners and purchased a bad product! Not very perfessional...

ps... I would have put zero stars if it were possible.
