When Charles Ludwig, author of over forty books, does his research for a new biography, he likes to see the places where the person he's writing about lived and traveled. Before he wrote "Susanna Wesley," he spent a month in England visiting London, Epworth, Wroot, and other locations mentioned in this book. Some of the buildings that Susanna saw, and even one of the homes she lived in, are still standing today. Dr. Ludwig was able to photgraph them, as well as areas where Susanna walked and traveled.

This is an excellent book for anyone interested in John Wesley, the founder of Methodism, and/or his brother, Charles Wesley, who wrote thousands of hymns (many that are familiar to those of us in any Christian denomination). Susanna Wesley was their mother; therefore, I would highly recommend reading this book first - as an introduction to their remarkable family - and then following up with any of the excellent books about John or Charles.
