This is an excellent tool for devising a sustainability strategy for your organization. It helped me tackle what seemed like a very daunting challenge by breaking down the process into sections such as procurement, energy, IT, waste management, etc. Each section provides information on the most environmentally friendly products and practices, gives practical suggestions and lists useful resources to obtain more in-depth information on particular topics. This book covers a wide range of topics and compiles all the basic information any organization needs to get started on a more socially and environmentally responsible path.

This toolkit is an excellent resource. I just finished writing a procurement plan for an elementary school and this book was my primary guide. This toolkit offers an extensive list of helpful websites to work on virtually any sustainability topic. Its true that this is simply a 101 version of sustainability, however, it does an excellent job of simplifying complex topics and putting all the resources that one would need to go in-depth on sustainability initiatives all in one place. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is interested in integrating sustainability into their business.

This is a great resource for companies that are uncertain of the first steps to "going green." Small businesses often focus on the low cost options with the greatest return. Sustainability 101 provides plenty of small steps with fairly in-depth national and local resources. It's not enough for businesses to proclaim their company is environmentally and socially repsonsible, they have to leverage local and national programs and tax-breaks.

If you want to incorporate green tactics into your business, buy this book!

If you're looking for one comprehensive, go-to resource for understanding the challenges and issues facing organizations looking to incorporate sustainable practices, this is it. One of the best features of the book is its organization. This book provides invaluable access to an extensive variety of topics in an easy-to-digest format. I find the book invaluable because of the tremendous time and frustration it saved me from having to mull through the often contradicting information available online.
