Not much I can say except this watch is awesome. I've seen many other models of SUUNTO watches and always wanted one but didn't want to pay the money. Now that I got one...well worth it. The heart rate feature is really nice b/c now I have a watch, altimeter, barometer, compass,...all for everyday use and for use when I camp or hike...and I can monitor my heart rate when I'm doing circuit training or just running. To me it's def a great all around watch. A lot of people say they're too hard to learn b/c of all the features but I didn't see any problems. After playing around with it for about an hour or so I had all the functions down. I will also say that I hardly wear watches b/c of "comfort" issues and this is the most comfortable watch I've ever worn. The band feels really nice andthe watch is really light compared to it's size.

Very nice watch although hard to read at times even at full contrast. Constantly having to change it back to display time/date due to twist button at top accidentally rubbing against my hand changing the function. This is my everyday watch so not 100% sure it was worth the premium price for anyone who is a multi-task'r like myself.

I have received many complements by my military and civvy buddies and they all know I love my watch collection, with that being said, they know its not a cheapo and it sure doesn't look the part either.

All functions work properly and of course, very accurate, also stands up to daily wear and tear and looks great. Just wish the dial button wasn't so darn sensitive

I bought this watch having in mind I could use it for basically any outdoor sports. The heart rate monitor works really well, altimeter works almost to the meter (although I learned after a while that I have to adjust the altitude every time I see a sign with the altitute) but it works really well, to the meter!

The only negative side is the thermometer. Not very smart of Suunto of installing the temperature sensor under the watch (in contact with the skin). So, when you've been outside when its freezing cold, it's showing a temperature of 26- 30 celsius; 78-86 Fahrenheit. The compass also works really well.

Otherwise, I am really happy with the watch. Great tool for outdoor sports.

Suunto watches were always famous because of their resistance to outdoor activities. I have mine for about 2 years now, and the strap already ripped. This new one i've just acquired i thought it would be more resistant, but i'm frustrated to see the same kind of material. So i expect to buy another one in less then 2 years, and it is not cheap. I consider this product a very high cost for a low quality of what is delivered.

This watch is excellent for the outdoors it has very precise altimeter and compass. It lacks of countdown timer and second hour. The chrono version is small and hard to manipulate. The batteries last 11 months only and is supposed to be replace by a local jeweler, unlike all Suunto model witch is deceiving. I had mine for 16 months and it just died, waiting for Suunto repair/warranty team for news. So i am kind of disappointed by the durability of this....outdoor watch for the same price You should also consider T-Touch expert.

So, I have had my Suunto Core for 3 years and every year, I have had to buy a new band. I love my watch and yeah, I put it through hell but still! Before I got my Suunto I had a cheap Timex watch with a rubber strap and it lasted 5 years! It just bothers me to have to keep buying ~$50 bands every year.

I purchased this watch for the elevation and HR functions primarily, as I like to backpack in the Rocky Mountains and often am above 10,000 feet. I find it to be quite accurate as the HR goes and acceptable when measuring altitude. One issue I notice is that the face scratches easily, which is dumb because this watch is meant to be outdoors, where there are sharp objects everywhere. The watch looks cool and is sizeable. It is easy to read. If you are looking for a simple watch, this isn't it. It is complicated, so read the owners manual. I still haven't used all of the features, and I've owned it for just under a year. For the price it is pretty good but could be more durable on the face. The watch strap has held together nicely.

I wanted a Suunto since I was a child. I bought this one, my most expensive watch purchased to date, and was initially pleased. The inaccuracy of the altimeter was not overly a problem, and it seemed well made.

After 7 months of ownership the watch indicated no altitude reading. It was stuck at 950mb. pressure, and the altimeter had frozen at 644 feet. I wrote Suunto who informed me I needed to let them change the battery. I decided to follow an online turorial to change the battery. It is not rocket science for technically inclined people like myself. The watch face indicated "FAIL". The computer would not re-boot with the new battery.

I relented and sent it to Suunto, who told me the watch had suffered from a leak, and the motherboard was contaminated. They would repair it for $444.00! Well why don't I buy a new one at that bargain price! Sheesh. Never again will I buy a Suunto product. I wore it in the shower, and swam with it in adult fashion, maybe 5 times. Hardly an expedition quality watch. I am a Falcon 900 pilot, somebody who hardly beats on his watch!!! It has had a light duty life prior to its premature expiration.

FAIL Suunto, epic FAIL.

After approx 4 months of use my strap broke again. Now my watch is sitting on my desk. I will have to be desperate to purchase another.

Let me start by saying that I wasn't sure if I would really like the orange color of the band, but it really grew on me quickly. Also, it is comfortable, easy to adjust, and intelligently designed so that it doesn't come loose. It stays in place very well unlike some other watch bands I have experienced over the years.

Here is the downside for me--as mentioned by another reviewer--the band develops dark stains from very normal use. It seems to leech dye out of clothing and anything it comes in contact with. It doesn't just get dirty, mind you, it gets stained. At first I thought I would be able to scrub it clean and bring it back to new... not the case. If you don't mind a grungy looking watch band then go for it. Otherwise, save your money and go for a darker color instead, or one of the ballistic nylon NATO bands (which are cheap, virtually indestructible, and VERY EASILY swapped out in about 10 secs... You could potentially have one for each outfit if you were so inclined.)
