Great dive computer, but accessories no longer available, September 14, 2007
This review is from: Suunto Stinger Advanced Dive Wristop Computer Watch (Stainless Steel) (Apparel)
I bought this watch about three years ago in 2004. It works great as a dive watch - screen is easy to read and audible alerts are very good. It handles mixed-air and variable mixed-air ratios as well as multi-stage decompression. It's dive logging is excellent and the dive manager software by Suunto does a pretty good job of showing it back to you.
HOWEVER, I called Suunto today and found that they no longer sell replacement wrist straps (watch bands) for the Stinger model. I'm pretty annoyed by this as it is an expensive dive computer and only a few years old.
So beware - your diving computer will only last as long as the wrist strap does. After that, you'll need a different way of securing the watch to your arm or dive kit.
These were the model numbers of the old wrist strap accessories (no longer available):
titanium 1000L5898
metallic 1000L5812
elastomer (rubber) 1000L5838
I'm not sure I'll buy another Suunto product after this - you shouldn't burn your customers when offering premium products.

Love the watch! Been on many dives and survived day to day wear with no problems, but the band is now tearing and they no longer offer replacements. WOW!!! This price for a watch that I will no longer be able to wear. Thanks for nothing suunto! I will not be back!!!
