Well, All I can say is this is a great clarinet for my daughter. It sounds great and is easy for beginner to intermediate students. Notes are easier to get then the bundy and the price is awesome. This purchase came with everything a student needs to start playing. My daughter is very happy with it and I don't kringe from her practicing due to squeeling that happened all the time with her Bundy.

5.0 out of 5 stars clarinet review, January 13, 2008

Bought this instrument for my grand-daughter as a Christmas present. Her old one was beyond repair.
She was amazed at the ease of use, and the improvement in her playing. Being a second year student she felt that she was not progressing, now knows that it was her old instrument at fault, not her.
Sound quality is great although she does not use the full range as of yet.

I purchased this Clarinet for my child, as an alternative to the school rental Clarinet. I wasn't thrilled with paying $50 a month for a rental...and really didn't want to buy an $800 dollar Clarinet for a child that wasn't sure if he really wanted to play. I played and learned both instruments with my child, as extra incentive to help him stay interested.

The produced arrive on time, and the build quality looked very similar to the more expensive rental. The sound quality was something else entirely.

Even using the same reeds, this instrument needed more effort in order to achieve the same level of play. I was never quite as happy with the sound of this instrument as I was with the rental. For an 8 year old in beginning band, I decided that cheaper was still the way to go...or I probably would have returned the item. I really can't recommend this product.
