This review is from: Suzuki Cello School: Cello Part, Vol. 3 (Paperback)
My son is in his 3rd yr of playing cello, and enjoys playing the songs in this book. It includes a nice arrangement of one of my favorite pieces: Minuet from Sei Quintetti for Archi No. 11, Op. 11, No. 5 in E Major (L. Boccherini). All of the songs are played with a piano on the CD (sold separately) which makes it fun. It seems to me they got the difficulty just right, as my son can sight read the easy parts of each song, but will have to put forth some effort to get thru the entire piece.

The Suzuki method is a tool, which a good teacher can use to cleverly structure the building and understanding of cello playing technique. The good teacher is essential, and fortunately I have one! It is working, because I am now in book three. (The CD's are recorded at a very fast tempo. I prefer to learn the notes slowly and put the speed into it later, without killing the music.)
