I love it!,

I played the flute in 4th grade and now at 33 years old, decided to pick it back up. The flute came very well packaged and with a little brochure complete with proper care instructions and a fingering chart. I love the case that is slightly bigger than the flute itself to give you room to work when taking it out and putting it away. I was happy that it came with the tenor grease and the cleaning/polishing cloths, too. I've been playing the flute every night for a week for about an hour a night and so far it has been flawless. I love this flute and would've spent more on it if I had to.

This was a great deal especially considering how much the school wants to charge for a used one. I used to play and bought this one for my daughter and was very pleased with the quality and would highly recommend this flute to anyone!

I bought this flute for my daughter to learn to play in grade school band. Overall, I was very impressed with the quality of the instrument. There was one catch, the "f" key wouldn't seat properly and we had to have it adjusted. Once adjusted, the flute plays fine.Service was good, flute well packed and arrived when stated in perfect condition. I would buy another instrument through Amazon's dealers. I am looking at a violin at this time.

Good for its value,

Bought this flute for my daughter over a year ago and am satisfy with its functionality and value. It plays decently although needed some slight adjustments/tuning. A great value for the price paid. My daughter had been renting an Armstrong that supposedly cost close to $600 but sounded and played no different than the Suzuki. An excellent beginner's flute.

We use this extensively for our daughters school band. Previously we had to rent the instrument every year for almost the same price!! This is an excellent value for the money. As an added bonus we dont have to worry about other users having used the instrument before!!

Great beginner flute!,

Our daughter has been playng this flute in school band and private lessons since starting to play 4 years ago (she was in 4th grade at that time). Her Suzuki flute has always sounded good, and has only been in to the music shop for a minor adjustment once in 4 years.I'm looking for an open hole flute for her now but not because of any issues with the Suzuki. She's just ready for a step-up flute for high school. We bought it new from the Suzuki website. It comes with a 2 year factory warranty. If you happen to get one that isn't playing well, you can send it back for repair under warranty. I remember there being a 30 day trial period as well, so if it just isn't going to work for you, you can send it back & get your money back within 30 days. As a parent, I would highly recommend the Suzuki flute. It's a good value.

I have been playing all types of instruments for years and I recently made this purchase, what a great find for the money. Sounds great, durable, and didn't cost an arm and a leg. I'm trying to get my music career off the ground, [...]) and this flute has provided me with a clear, crisp audio for all to hear. Definitely buy!

I brought this flute for my daughter, a 5th grader, 2 months ago. She complained that there was a leak and nothing sound right. After $45 repairing it in a local music shop, I was told that the metal was too soft and it will give in again if not careful. My daughter played very light, less than 2 hours a week. I am trying to contact the manufacturor. It has a two year warrenty. I don't know if they will reimburse me the repair fee. The company is in CA. If you live anywhere else and could not wait to send them the flute for repair, you have to pay ahead and pray if they will reimburse you anything. The company rep is quite nice on the phone, but again I don't know he will reimburse me or not. I doubt this flute will last 2 years. renting a flute will cost about $100 a year and hassal free. If your kids just start learning and don't know whether he/she will continue playing flute, go rent. If your kids are serious players, look for a better brand.

Great beginner flute!,
This review is from: Suzuki FL-SC Flute (Electronics)
I've had this flute for four years- ever since fifth grade, and it's lasted through everything. It's survived all the drops, rain, and even a marching band season. The metal is soft, which makes it sensitive to the temperature in the room, so it can be quite out of tune at times of extreme heat or cold. The tone quality is pretty good, and when a screw fell out, Suzuki shipped another one without issues, as it was under warranty. The customer service is pretty awesome. Anyways, as a beginner flute, this a great one to start out with. :)
