Way more info that I can use., December 26, 2010
This review is from: Suzuki LS650 Savage/Boulevard S40, 1986-2007 (Clymer Motorcycle Repair) (Paperback)
This book gives very thorough written explanations and the photos give great detail. A few of the photos are a little dark but all are still quite use-able. The color wiring diagrams are very helpful. You could use this book to tear the bike down to each individual part, screw, and bolt - although I'd never go that far myself. The book is a great asset to any weekend mechanic looking to do basic maintenance, fix common problems, or install accessories (while wondering how to get "that" part off the bike).

Very useful, but not perfect, November 7, 2011
This review is from: Suzuki LS650 Savage/Boulevard S40, 1986-2007 (Clymer Motorcycle Repair) (Paperback)
I bought this manual as soon as I purchased my bike because I was hoping to do a lot of upkeep myself. I started with the simple oil change, air filter change, and replacing the spark plug. The book is very good at covering all the steps that were necessary, but with each item I found myself needing one more picture or hint to help find what the author was pointing me towards. The pictures can often times be too dark, or sometime they point at a bolt with no frame of reference. That being said, the step-by-step instructions are also very thorough and walk one through every step of the procedure.
Pros:
*Every maintenance task is covered. From simple fluid changes to rebuilding the engine. If it needs to be done to the bike, you'll find it in here.
*Step-by-step instructions. The author provides you with every step that you need to complete the task.
*Some useful pictures and tables. There are plenty of pictures, tables and figures that help with the process.
Cons:
*Not every picture is useful. Some pictures are too dark or are not helpful at all.
*The content of the book is somewhat disorganized. While the chapter titles help, it is not always clear where to find certain tasks.
Overall:
I would purchase the book again. It is very useful in keeping up on the maintenance and is really easy to use for a novice. It seems worth the ~$25 price tag.

Suzuki LS650 Savage 1986-2007 Motorcycle Repair Manual, October 5, 2011
This review is from: Suzuki LS650 Savage/Boulevard S40, 1986-2007 (Clymer Motorcycle Repair) (Paperback)
A very helpful manual for the owner of the Savage LS650, although a few errors were found. Still a far cry better than nothing when attempting to do repairs on the Suzuki Savage. Has come in very handy and saved shop repair cost.
