Product Description
Ceres chronicles the adventures of Aya Mikage, a typical high school girl, until she turns 16. Fellow classmate Yuki Urakawa catches Aya’s attention when she exhibits supernatural firestarter abilities. But when Yuki suspects Aya of leaking information on her secret romance, she unleashes all her pyrotechnic fury!

About the Author
A manga artist for over ten years, Yuu Watase's debut came in 1989 at the

age of 18 when her short story Pajama de Ojama (An Intrusion in Pajamas)

appeared in the monthly Shôjo Comic manga anthology. Since then she

has written and drawn some 50 volumes worth of different short stories and

long-running manga series, including the fantastically popular Fushigi

Yûgi, also available in English from VIZ. Her works have provided the

basis for two television series, an OVA series, anime soundtrack CDs, and a

string of novels. --This text refers to the Paperback edition.

5.0 out of 5 stars looking forward to reading more, June 18, 2003
By M. Cookson (Colorado Springs) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
Although I've never read any of the other volumes in this series, this book really grabbed my attention and got me interested. It helped that there was a short section explaining who all the characters are, as well as a section explaining what's happened in the previous volumes. The storyline was interesting. I'm looking forward to finding out what happens next, with the Mikage International story as well as with Aya's relationships (I've never thought romantic storylines were inherently bad, and at least the other storylines are there to provide some balance). In this volume, Aya has to deal with relationship issues with Yuhi as well as Toya. Also, she finds out there's another celestial power nearby. I liked the artowrk, although there was often a tendency, when a person's hair had fallen over one eye, for the somewhat covered eye not to be drawn in any way. It looked kind of odd, like the person was missing an eye. Still, the artwork was very nice. I also like the artist/author's comments - occaisionally, she had little panels on the side where she'd talk about creating Ceres, her own thoughts on how Ceres works (there's a simplistic explantion of genetics and DNA at one point, although it's not much more, and probably less, than what you'd find out in a high school biology class). She sounded like an interesting person to meet.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Best Book in the Series!!!, April 15, 2004
By Austin (Bluffton, IN USA) - See all my reviews
Volume 3 of Ceres: Celestial Legend is the best book in the series! This one is the best because it has the saddest storyline of all of the books, and because it has the most intense action. Yuki Urakawa also suffers from the most terrible fate of any character in the series. Unfortunatley, if you haven't read the first two, you shouldn't read this one, cause you'll be lost by page 2.

5.0 out of 5 stars Even better then FY, January 14, 2004
By "mikeciof" (New York) - See all my reviews
Yu Watase is one of the best shojo manga artists out there! Her artwork is beautiful, and bishes galore! Ceres contains the perfect combination of romance, and magic. Fushigi Yugi is also a great manga by watase, check it out ^ ^
