Suzy's Best Yet, September 14, 1999
By A Customer
Have you ever had a cd that you loved so much you've wondered how the artist was ever going to top it? I felt that way after hearing Suzy's cd "Give Me Some Wheels". When her last cd, "Nobody Loves Nobody Gets Hurt", came out, I figured she had reached the apex. There was no way she could top it. I'm glad to say I was wrong! Suzy's new cd, "Suzy Bogguss", continues to show what a vibrant, strong performer and songwriter she is. There aren't many voices as pure as hers. Just one listen to a track like "Look What Love Has Done" will thrill you with the clarity, precision, and simple beauty of her voice. The first single, "Goodnight", is simultaneously uplifting and heartbreaking, with a classic sound that people will be playing for years. Another highlight is "Love Is Blind", a duet with T. Graham Brown. He's got a gravelly, powerful voice that really compliments her. Suzy Bogguss has definitely hit a new creative pinnacle with this one. If you haven't checked out her previous cd's, I'd also recommend "Something Up My Sleeve", "Aces", and the two I mentioned at the beginning of the review. Also, if you like Suzy, you should also check out Matraca Berg, another incredible singer/songwriter.

Simply Awesome, October 5, 2002
I bought this album because I'd heard one song off it, which was "Good night." After getting the album and giving it a listen through, I've been nothing but pleased.Suzy is an excellent contemporary country artist. I tend to be a fan of older country like Merle Haggard, or fringe country like Dwight Yoakam, but Suzy definately pleases on this album. This album is hard to find in Calgary, FYI.

Non-Commercial, Non-Mainstream Suzy, March 18, 2001
The ... review of this album and of Bogguss assumesthatboth have to make a Nashville 'breakthrough' to be reallygood. Suzy does her regular, quite identifiable, independent thing onthis album and at a very high standard. She does music that appeals tothe soul. Western swing is not her thing. She obviously cares more formusic than money. .... That said, this album is a keeper if there everwas one.
