Our son absolutely loves Suzy Goose. This book is not yet as popular as the original, "Look Out, Suzy Goose!" but it's one of his favorites and he's only had it for a few weeks.

All the Suzy Goose books have wonderful illustrations and good stories, and this is no exception. Suzy decides that she needs to get a star for the Christmas tree and of course has an unexpected adventure, but then everything turns out in the end. (Does that count as a spoiler?)

Suzy Goose and the Christmas Star offers something bright and new for yuletide reading. When Suzy Goose and her friends gather around the decorated tree outside their barn, Suzy sees that it needs a star on top--so she sets out to get one. Not just any star will do. The intrepid Suzy sets her sights on the most brilliant star in the sky.

Simple mixed-media paintings follow her trek. Who would have guessed that a white goose trudging through white show could have so much personality? The minimalist text perfectly suits the expressive art: not one word too many, not one snowflake too few. Here is a book to pore over and enjoy again and again, year after year, Christmas after Christmas.

Gave this to my grandchildren for Christmas. They opened it Christmas eve and had their Momma read it right away. This is a precious book which was thoroughly enjoyed by all!
