Book Description

The Female Warrior Series – Book 1

They say that destiny or fate is a predetermined course of events. That it’s a concept based on the belief that there is a fixed natural order to the cosmos. Sometimes that can be a hard concept to swallow when life continually beats you down. This series is about a group of women who finds the strength to fight back against the brutal punches of life.

Suzzie barely survived an abusive childhood. One act of kindness teaches a broken child how to defend herself. Another provides a young teenager the opportunity to leave her abusive childhood behind.

Suzzie may have grown up in a rundown trailer on the bad side of town, but she’s very intelligent. She makes the most of those rare acts of kindness. As one of the best pilots at Nasa, she feels she finally gains control of her life and reaches for the stars.

While piloting a space ship on an exploratory mission, life comes crashing down around her – literally. The crew of thirty-nine men and twenty-one women crash land on a remote planet.

Life on the planet became a horrific nightmare when the men started brutalizing the women. Suzzie helps lead the women in a war for survival against the men. After a long and bloody battle, the women emerge triumphant.

Just when they grow comfortable living life without men, an alien race of sexy, dominate males invades their planet and claims the women as their lifemates. Sike, the second born son to the King of Caton, immediately recognizes Suzzie as his lifemate. However, she isn’t like the submissive females on his planet he’s used to.

Will Sike learn to accept fate’s decision to give him a strong woman that will fight by his side instead of a docile female he must protect? Will Suzzie open her guarded heart and take a chance on love?

Fate may bring certain circumstances into your life, but each person has the free will to decide how you handle them.

This book contains strong language, abusive situations, dominating men, strong willed women, and erotic love scenes. It is not intended for anyone under the age of eighteen.

2.0 out of 5 stars Great concept abysmal execution May 27, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I'm really heartbroken because this book has SO much potential! I like the characters & the story but I can't finish the book because I keep tripping over all the errors. Seriously, it's like vicious fingernails screeching down a chalk board in my head as I read. There are blatant and myriad misused words, misspellings and unbearable switches in tense (please stick with past tense because present tense doesn't work & it's super distracting). The author does a lot of telling rather than showing, which is a bummer because she demonstrates that she can create vivid mind pictures with a few descriptions in the beginning. There is also a huge opportunity to flesh out some areas only glossed over but that would add context & make this a more complete & believable story. For example, I love the women's bad-ass fighting skills, but how did they learn & hone them? Let's have some detail on the crash and the group's disintegration into a "Lord of the flies" nightmare. Rather than just telling us these women are geniuses, show them employing their brilliance as they come up with unbeatable guerrilla-warfare tactics to eradicate the men. We could observe their cleverness & adaptability as they invent ways to create a community that employs the individuals' talents to keep them all fed, clothed and sheltered. Ok, I'll stop there because I'm starting to sound like my editor, or worse--like my 10th grade English teacher :) if this book receives a good edit and is re-released I will delight in reading it and giving it a rave review.

2.0 out of 5 stars Good concept, not so great execution June 25, 2013

I thought the concept for this story was good. Unfortunately, I was less pleased with the execution. The story tends to focus on sex and skips most of the plot. The entire story of what happened when the team landed on the plant is worked into a paragraph. Worse, at least to me, lead warrior Suzzie loses what credibility she had. After fighting off aliens, being captured, drugged, and waking up; she attempts to escape. Halfway through the escape, she stops and decides to have sex with the stranger who is holding her prisoner (she has known him all of 5 minutes). No logic, or thought, she just stops being intelligent with no explanation. Presumably her loss of consciousness during sex was less about it being great and more about an aneurysm, since she then explains to the aliens all about the women living on the planet, their defenses, how to find and capture them. Suzzie goes from being intelligent, protective, and a leader to being a ditz within a couple of pages. A couple of hours later, she has decided she is in love and that is the end of the book. It stops right in the middle of the plot. If you want to find out if she actually gets off of the ship, you have to buy the next book.

2.0 out of 5 stars ho hum July 31, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Lots of un-romantic sex, jumpy plot, overall pretty ho-hum. I think this would have made quite a good graphic novel rather than a book. Also don't expect it to be a full story as it is really more of a first episode without a cliff hanger but no real ending.

I managed to get through it but did not bother with the next book.

2.0 out of 5 stars Mixed... July 20, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
I gave this book a two stars, if I could give it a 2.5 I would. I really liked the idea behind the book, but I thought it could have been written better. I felt as though I was reading something written by a teenager. It seemed like it was all just dialogue, which wasn't very good, and nothing on the setting of the book. I wasn't drawn into the characters, it felt like they were one dimensional. This book could have been great, in the summary I was drawn to the female warriors and there were a few parts where suzzie kicked ass, I just wish there was more to the story.

3.0 out of 5 stars A pretty okay series October 12, 2013

Not as well written as I'd have liked but the story was okay. Lots of Alpha males. Iiked that their were equally strong smart women who could take care of themselves.

5.0 out of 5 stars OMG! she did it again! September 9, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I want more! I want more! I made the mistake of reading the first two out of order and was abruptly cut off!!! These books are amazing! I want to read about all of the life mates! These males are similar to the carpathian warriors that are depicted in the novels by Christine Feehan. And I love those novels. These are just as good. She gets right straight to the action and spends quality time on the love scenes or should I say the smoking hot sex scenes! Now I have one left to read and I'm already feeling depressed because there are only three total books by this author! But I can't do anything about that but enjoy the three that I do have. Thanks Kay Adele! You ROCK!!!

2.0 out of 5 stars Could have been better August 23, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Really, it started with a good premise. But we missed the story of what really happened leading up to the sex scenes, which is the most important part of the story. And I am sorry, but it is NOT "her and X went...." It is " She and X went"!!!!! This is a basic grammar mistake along with " withering" during a sex scene versus "writhing" - because I would hope she is writhing and not withering from what he is doing!! It could have been a really good story, and I hope the author makes at least the grammatical corrections, to make it better.
