Svan Youth Chair in Cherry Stain

It's kind of scary to pay 200 bucks for a chair but let me tell you my son loves this thing and so do I.

We bought him one of those plastic booster things you put in a normal kitchen chair and it was just not good. Let's not even talk about what you find underneath the booster when you take it off the chair! We used it for nearly 3 years but he just had a hard time sitting in it.
The biggest problem arose as he grew taller. He didn't have any place to put his feet so he would rest them on me or his Mom.
My Wife grew tired of it and she wanted him to have a place for his feet. I think it was really uncomfortable for him to have them dangling off the chair. We looked and looked but didn't like the plastic and metal tube high chairs you find everywhere. We both love the look and feel of real wood furniture.

After doing some searching on the internet I found this chair.
I nervously ordered it with a cover set in the Toddler configuration. It took about 15 minutes to set up and even comes with all the tools you need to assemble it. It's quick and easy, nice and sturdy, suprisingly light and seems quite durable. The odd shape actually makes it very stable, my son can stand on the platform and wiggle around in the chair without fear of tipping it over, something his booster chair would not tolerate. I had to catch him more than once for just trying to push himself back from the table! The Cherry finish is quite nice.
The covers come off easily for washing and you can just run them through with regular clothes even though the padding is a little bulky.

My boy still likes to put his feet on our legs but he is much better about putting them on the step. It seems almost infinitely adjustable to keep up with this little guy as he grows.
I am totally satisfied with this purchase even though it was a bit more than I wanted to pay.

My twins, now 5 years old, have been using this chair for 3 years now and there is no end in sight! We LOVE this chair! I only wish these had been available when they were in high chairs, because there is a high chair attachment available as well.

This chair really does truly convert from baby to adult. We've easily made adjustments to the seat and foot height over the years and the kids sit comfortably at the table without fidgeting. This truly is an ergonomic chair that allows children of all ages to sit comfortably with their feet supported, close to the table. Even at 2 years old, the kids loved climbing onto their special chair all on their own.

We opted for the machine washable cushion, which I also recommend, but the seat can be used without it as well.

This chair is attractive and it is small enough to fit right in with our dining table not to mention that it is a hit for everyone that comes to visit us. We also can easly move it over to our computer (on the kitchen counter) and it's used as a computer chair as well.

Out of all the baby furniture and equipment we've purchased, this truly is the best choice we've ever made. This truly is an item that you will use for years to come!

This chair is fabulous, well made and looks great. My son loves it. He is now 16 months and has been using it since he was 5 months old (with infant attachment). It is so much nicer and more practical than the horrible, huge plastic highchairs. He'll be using the chair for years to come! It's one of the best things that I have bought for my son.

We bought a Svan youth chair for our son when he was almost two and loved it so much we just bought another for our younger daughter. Son is almost four now and still loves his chair, and daughter is thrilled to have one of her own. They can both climb in and out by themselves safely. The chair is super sturdy -- our boy is incredibly rambunctious and still has only managed to tip it over once, and that was quite a feat. It's also cleaned up well and still looks as great as the first day we used it.

We purchased this chair (in cherry finish) 6 months ago for our daughter's third birthday. The sterling reviews we had already read here helped us with the decision. Our daughter had been out of a highchair and sitting at a mini-table with a child's chair for a year, but she wanted to sit up with mommy and daddy. She was so proud when she received the chair, because she could climb in and out of it all by herself and was just our height. After 6 months, she still loves her chair just as much. She is proud of sitting in it. This has offset any expense worries we ever had. Also, despite food spills, bouncing, kicking and rough treatment with utensils, we can't find any scratches or wear to the finish. We simply re-tighten it once a month with an Alan wrench and it remains as sturdy as ever. Our daughter has daughter has tried to rock it and climbed up it as if at a gym, it has not tipped on her at all. We do always watch her to make sure it doesn't do this, however.
The transit time for this chair was about six weeks. We got a couple emails telling us of delays, but it was well worth the wait. I consider it the best household item we've bought for her so far, and she can use it with adjustments well into her teens if desired. A+ on this one.

this is my second svan chair, i now have one highchair and one youth chair. i think they are beautiful, that's why i'm sucked into buying them, but the screws often come a little loose so the chair gets a little wobbly and we always have to re-tighten. they also made the model a bit larger, which i really don't like because it's one of the reasons i was originally attracted to this chair, most other highchairs are huge and take up so much space. their new cherry colour is also not cherry at all - it used to be, but currently it's quite close to natural which was a bit disappointing. i actually prefer this chair as a youth chair (rather than an infant chair) because the baby part is a bit hard to get babies in and out of and it doesn't tilt back like a lot of the plastic ones do but as a youth chair, my 2 year old can climb in and out herself and sit and eat comfortably.
