Boy, it's amazing how sucked in you can get, cruising the internet and getting so heavily marketed to as new moms. Gorgeous as it is, the Svan doesn't live up to the the price point. We sent this back.

That being said, we bought a used one for $120 to help a friend in need so even though we returned the original, disappointed, we can attest to pros and cons.

SELLING POINTS- sweet design! It blends right in with our own furniture because we can choose wood finish and cushion color. It's super low profile so we don't feel as though there's an alien spaceship of icky plastic basking in our dining room/kitchen.

Light weight. Love that, because I can drag it around easily, even with her in it, to feed and cook and dine together- whatever happens to be happening at mealtime.

Very few nooks and crannies for cooty catching. Where food does land, easily accessible for dog tongues. Tray with the plastic cover is easy to clean.

Easy to get her in and out; the belt is safe and secure and the wooden tray snaps right off.

NO DEAL!-That being said, the tray connections wear out in less than 6 months; we re-press the contact points several times in a meal. And it sags.

The belt buckle is awkward, tucked behind the upright for the tray. The buckle would be easier off to the side. Also the buckle jams- maybe it warps over time?

The construction has issues too. As a laminate/bentwood/plywood type of material, it wears horribly. Ours looks shabby at 6 months. The varnish is flaking all over. The wood is dinged up and scuffed.

We still like it to a point because it's light, easy to move/clean and it isn't visually offensive. I recommend buying used because the quality doesn't bear the price.

I purchased the Svan espresso chair with the black cover for my daughter. She is now one and we still love the high chair. Even when the stains are noted on the chair cover it comes right off and looks new again. The wood is so beautiful and modern. It is easy to clean and extremely functional. It is not bulky and loud like other high chairs on the market. The plastic cover is easy to clean and is dishwasher safe.
We get compliments from all of are other friends who say it is the coolest high chair they have seen!
Best purchase and we would defintely do it again.
