I received the Svan high chair I ordered a few days ago. It certainly looks stylish, and Im hopeful that it will live up to the positive reviews it has received on this website. I just wanted buyers to be aware that shipping on the product is extremely slow. It took 5 weeks for a chair that was "in stock" even though Amazon says it will ship in a few days. Amazon doesn't ship the item; the purchase is actually from Baby Because and the chair ships directly from the manufacturer. To be fair, Baby Because was responsive to my phone calls and apologetic, but it was out of their control and it was clear that they didn't really know when it would ship. Also, buyers should be aware that the color of the chair isn't really what it appears online. The cherry is an orangey color (not a reddish-brown american cherry color) and the mohagany chair is actually a dark red-maroon color, not the deep brown that is depicted in the pictures. The cushion colors appear accurate. By the way, the cushion makes the chair very comfortable and is well-made.

This is a great chair! My 2 1/2 yr old son loves it and meal times are no longer battles trying to get him into his chair. He can climb in and out by himself and we have no fears of it tipping over since it's built so well. He has been using it for 7 months and I love how it grows with him. My husband and I love the fact he can sit at the table and eat with us. It is also easy to adjust (the footrest and seat depth easily adjust to your growing child) and easy to clean. I had a plastic chair and it was horrible. Food was stuck in every crevice and forget being able to get it out. The Svan chair is also smaller than the plastic chairs. The other thing I really like is my son can sit upright instead of leaning back in the plastic chairs, which caused huge messes. I have also had lots of compliments on the "look" since it's more like furniture. We definitely plan on purchasing another one when our newborn is ready for a highchair

We are so thrilled with this chair!!! With our 2 older children, we struggled with our high chair, as they were too big for a 6 month old (so we had to feed them from their infant seat), and when the chair was able to be used, the clean up was quite dreadful. We constantly had to take the cushion off to clean it since food would get trapped in the nooks of the seat...and if the cushion was in the wash you could not use the high chair. With the SVAN our child sits straight up and is supported on all sides, and if the cushion is in the wash, we can still use the chair...however since the chair is such a perfect fit, we have noticed most of the mess stays on the tray not in the seat!
I so wish I had bought this for child #1 and passed it down to each of the other children. The chair is so unique, but SO functional!! I know someday that this high chair will hold my grandchildren...how often can you say that about baby products today? I would and have recommended this chair to everyone I know. Compared to regular high chairs, I know the cost is more, but so worth it!!! Thank you for making the perfect high chair!!!

When we first put the chair together, we were surprised by how compact and short it was (short compared to all other high chairs we've seen). However, from the minute we tried it out, we were absolutely in love with it. Not only does it look like a piece of art or fine furniture (my father-in-law asked me if it cost less than $1000!), but it is more functional than any other chair we've tried. In other high chairs she has difficulty staying upright without going sideways. The Svan chair provides perfect posture at any stage and fit her perfectly at 4 months. Cleanup is easy with a single swipe of a damp cloth. The compact chair fits nicely with other dining room furniture so much so that it doesn't appear to be a high chair at all. It fits right up at the table at your eye level so baby is sitting at the table with the family. Very classy and everyone is amazed by it!! Would recommend for everyone.

This is our third daughter & we threw out our last expensive Italian highchair that had lasted through seven years and two cushion replacements. Grandma bought this one for us and we LOVE this highchair. At age five months, baby was able to sit up straight in this chair, something that was never possible with our older highchair until the kids were eight or nine months. The tray comes to about mid-ribcage area, instead of just under her chin. We pull this chair right up to our table and she can eat with the whole family at meals. I was hestitant over the more modern style of this chair because our house is very traditional, but the mahogany wood and sage cushion blends beautifully with our kitchen. In addition, the chair is very lightweight and easy to move, even without wheels. It's easy to carry baby with one arm and the chair with the other hand. Best of all, the cushion is completely washable! Even if it weren't, there are very few places that leftover food could collect.

The only downside to this chair is that you cannot throw the tray into the dishwasher -- but the tray (as well as the whole chair) easily wipes down with a damp cloth. We haven't yet used the chair yet as a toddler chair, but I am anticipating that it will work along the same lines as the KinderZeat. I wish that the Svan was on the market when we had our first baby ten yers ago -- I'm sure we would not have needed to buy another highchair.

Our chair arrived this week and we love it! Our daughter is happy as a clam in the chair and is at the perfect level with our table and can be part of the family. The tray looks a little small and doesn't have any side lips to catch stuff from falling. That may be the only down fall, otherwise, we are very happy to do without the big plastic chairs of today!

We got ours yesterday, after changing the color from Natural to Mahogany to get it faster. Mahogany is very dark, much darker than they cherry picture, not the "almost the same as Natural" you think it is from these pictures.

That said, we really like it so far. It went together really well, everything aligned beautifully. Our son (2 1/4 years) really likes it as well. we wanted something he could climb into now, and he can, but only if the infant support part is off, which also means you can't use the tray. This is turning out not to be a problem, but was a little bit of a surprise.

The finish doesn't look to be really waterproof (although we might be surprised), so we'll be getting a cover for the seat & back, and probably adding some kind of mat on the footrest, since he still spills/drops a _lot_ of food.

Still, the quality is high, and we're looking forward to having it for a while. we're already wondering if we'll move him to a "regular" chair once the soon-to-get-here baby is old enough to need a high chair, or buy a second (we'd assumed we'd move him, now we're not so sure).

My son is almost 4 and he still uses his chair - We bought him the booster cushions at other peoples homes - but the kids fight to use this chair because they can climb in and out of this one. I am getting another chair for my daughter and going to use the high chair kit for her, because I know they will fight over this once she is big enough to climb in by herself. BEST chair ever - Glad I didnt get a regular bulky highchair that just collects dust once your child is climbing and sitting on their own! This and the Tripp Trapp chair are awesome!

My son stood up on the foot rest to get into his chair to play with his cars on the dining room table, he stood on the edge of the foot rest near the front which resulted in the chair toppling forward and the chair and my son fell to the floor. I don't feel confident having my son climbing up and down from this chair at all.

We bought our SECOND Svan chair when our second baby was born, so our first one could keep her own. Our first one is three years old, can get in and out of the chair easily, and we can adjust it to allow her to sit at the correct height for the table as she has grown. With non-adjustable chairs at friends' homes, she is sometimes too high/low. Now her one-year-old baby sister has her Svan chair, and we just pull her right up to our table, we have not used a baby tray ever for her. The Svan is also easy to clean, almost no little cracks where food can spill into.

We used to have a molded plastic chair with tray but it was bulky and could not be used when our first baby got too big, and it could not fit at the table, and it was hard to clean all the cracks. We also considered the Stokke but we think this one has better flexibility for adjusting the height. The Svan is perfect. WE LOVE THE SVAN CHAIR!
