Victory Rose's "Sleepwalkers," or The Meaning of Life Is In Here Somewhere, October 20, 2008
This review is from: Svefn - G - Englar (MP3 Download)
When I listen to this song, I imagine myself in a sea of bubbles floating past me in a dreamy and surreal '2001: Space Odyssey'-type environment. You could fall asleep to this song in a good way, in its strange New Agey feel. In fact, when the meaning of life is revealed (it's 42), I imagine this song will be playing in the background. Clocking in at 10 minutes, this is a work of utter brilliance. Truly one of the absolute best of the past 20 years.
Strange part is, the song has words, they're just in Icelandic. It's not even in English! In just the first 3 minutes, Iceland blows away 99% of America's music in brilliance, and wipes off most other continents. It's like a modern "American Pie," and you simply MUST hear this song. To do not so, would be a true musical crime. If nothing else, put it on when you go to bed to help you sleep. It works for me, and it's good for the mind.
