I purchased two of these blankets on-line from the company when my twins girls grew out of the regular sized swaddlin blankets. My girls wouldn't sleep without being swaddled up until they were 7 months old. So you can imagine that they needed large blankets to be swaddled in. They are wonderful and now I plan on buying them for friends that are having babies. They are also great for nursing in public. The blankets are so large that you can cover yourself, your baby and anyone sitting close to you. I wish I had bought two for each baby. It was hard to make sure I washed them quickly before the next nap.

I recently met the founder of SwaddleDesigns. It was exciting to meet her because I love her blanket - last fall, I bought four after receiving one as a shower gift. She is an RN and a sweet and caring person. It was heart-warming to learn the story behind her blanket and her company. As a nurse, she found when visiting parents that they struggled when trying to swaddle because typical receiving blankets are too small, and they could not remember how to wrap their baby when attempting to swaddle - the nurse at the hospital made it look so easy. She was inspired to help new parents become swaddling experts, so she designed the Ultimate Receiving Blanket - much larger than standard receiving blankets and the instructions for swaddling are sewn on the blanket. Nurses are problem solvers and gifted at helping people and she used her gift to design this blanket. As a mother of two she understands what moms want and need. She shared her design philosophy to design stylish products that have many uses. Her blanket is very special made from very soft cotton flannel, beautiful colors, delicate edge that looks like a stitch used by my grandmother, and a keepsake quality with many uses beyond swaddling. As a new parent, you may decide to buy a swaddling gadget (I bought a one myself) but, you will find that after a few months your baby will quickly outgrow it. With the SwaddleDesigns blanket you will find that the blanket becomes your child's favorite blankie and sleep association, blanket for play time, shade in the stroller, great privacy throw and a wonderful blanket for years. The blanket washes wonderfully and looks great after many, many washes. Before meeting the founder I felt my blanket was special and after she told me that Gwyneth Paltrow, Genna Davis, Gwen Stefani, Mariska Hargitay, Debra Messing and thousands moms have used the same blanket - I felt special to be part of a club of moms who have discovered this fabulous blanket. This is the best swaddle blanket you will ever own! It's actually big enough to swaddle the baby without the blanket coming undone. I received one as a gift and loved it so much I went back and purchased another. I do not use ANY of the other receiving blankets I previously owned. The Ultimate Swaddle Blanket is WONDERFUL!!!
