These are a MUST have for any new parent. These blankets are TRUE swaddling blankets (just like the hospital but MUCH nicer quality) not like a lot of the other blankets that claim to be swaddling blankets but are really just regular blankets. My son was a preemie (3.5 pounds) and when he came home from the hospital at 4.5 pounds this is all we used. We must have bought at least 12 of these and used every one without fail. My son was swaddled every time he went to sleep and he slept MUCH better. We actually used these much longer than most people do, we swaddled him for months and months but as time went on we just swaddled him around his waist with his arms out, it was a security blanket for him and he was just comfortable being swaddled. Now, obviously at 21 months we no longer swaddle him but these good early sleeping habbits really set the stage for his much longer term healthy sleeping habits that he has today. Do not hesitate, these are fantastic AND they come with a little sheet that shows you exactly how to swaddle in case you don't know how or forget. I kept that sheet on my fridge for months so that when my mom watched him she would have it in case she forgot (it's been many years since she's swaddled babies:) These come in many colors all white but with diferent colored dots (it's really a swiss dot print). blue, pink, yellow, lavender and sage green. They wash beautifully and always stay soft. The only color I would not buy again is the sage green as that one did fade, the blue, purple and yellow are all gorgeous, my sis owns the pink and that is lovely as well. Hope this is helpful! This is the best swaddle blanket you will ever own! It's actually big enough to swaddle the baby without the blanket coming undone. I received one as a gift and loved it so much I went back and purchased another. I do not use ANY of the other receiving blankets I previously owned. The Ultimate Swaddle Blanket is WONDERFUL!!!

I received this blanket as a gift and I'm ordering another, it's very warm without being too bulky and is great for swaddling. Great gift idea or if you are looking for one, definitely get this one.

The Swaddle Designs blanket was one of the best gifts I received. The pictures of how to swaddle a baby on the sewn in tag was so helpful to me. The nurses showed me how to swaddle at the hospital but I couldn't remember how to do it when I got home. My best friend came to visit me and brought me this blanket. I realized the small rectangular blankets that I was trying to use were just too small and this blanket is much bigger and showed me how to make a swaddle that stayed secure. It was easy to follow the steps and after a few times my confidence grew and I was swaddling like a nurse! My husband found the tag helpful, too. I bought 2 more because otherwise I was doing wash all the time. My baby is 6 months old now and I no longer swaddle him but I have used this blanket for everything from a tummy time mat, a cover up while nursing, a changing pad, extra padding to prop his head in the carseat, and I take it everywhere. I buy Swaddle Designs' blankets for my friends now as gifts. I am very happy with the quality. I haven't found a softer big blanket, and I love the sweet stitching. It is an essential I still use daily.

I loved this blanket so much, I ordered several more. They are the best swaddling blanket I've found (plenty of fabric to work with and great instructions right on the tag). They are also a great all-purpose blanket (covering the car seat in bad weather, on a floor to sit and play, etc.). Can't say enough good things about it. Even my kids' pediatrician asked about it so she could recommend it to her other patients.

This is my favorite baby blanket and perfect for swaddling. The cotton flannel is not too heavy or too light for baby. At 42x42, I have yet to find a baby blanket that is this large. Most baby blankets are cute, may be super soft and in materials like fleece, but all are too small. Besides, unless you keep your home freezing, who wants to swaddle their baby in fleece or other heavy materials?

There are other swaddle blankets out there that many say they prefer as those blankets stay secured with velcro. Not me. When it's 3am and your baby starts stirring for a feeding, the last thing I want to do is fully wake baby for a diaper change by pulling apart that velcro. The Swaddle Designs blanket is large enough to securely and snugly swaddle baby without all the velcro or presized foot/leg pockets. My baby hated those because it restricted her leg movement.

Even if you don't use the blanket for swaddling, it's still a great size for a nursing cover or tummy play time. After using the Swaddle Designs blanket, all other baby blankets seem like oversized burp cloths.

I have bought numerous blankets and this is the best ever, it is big and soft. All other blankets are too small and my son keeps getting unswaddled and sticking his little hands out. This one is the biggest one of all. I wish I bought more than one and didn't buy the other blankets, which I will now use as burp cloths!

Our baby girl was born at 8 pounds 11 oz and from the very start it was clear that regular receiving blankets were a joke. She is 1 month old now and closer to 10 pounds than 9, and swaddling her is still a necessity multiple times a day. Without this swaddling blanket we would have one miserable baby, and two very unhappy parents. I feel that this blanket is worth every penny. We own two,thank goodness, since one is constantly in the wash.

These swaddling blankets are not only beautiful & great quality, but they are the largest by far making swaddling much easier than with 99% of the swaddling/receiving blankets out there (we found it to be impossible to swaddle our baby with any of the other blankets). For newborns it works great. When the baby gets a little bit bigger and stronger though (in our case at about 6 weeks) even this blanket can be too small and the baby can kick it off. We switched over to the Baby Bonkie which has worked WONDERS in getting our baby to sleep through the night.

I love this blanket! I love the design, I love the soft flannel fabric, I love that it's large enough to swaddle my little one (even though I don't swaddle her much. She shrieks!) ... I love everything about it. I'm planning on getting more. I've washed mine 3 times already and it just gets softer and softer every time. A great item!
