Noelle Dresden has a voice of a songbird and wants to pursue a career in the music industry. Her dream is always placed on the back burner, just like the relationship with her boyfriend, Jonah. I believe this book had the potential to be a 5 star book. There were some awesome characters but they were not developed fully. The book was very focued on the main charcters and seem to have forgotten the supporting characters are sometimes the best part of the story. The writer made reference to her previous books that I'm unfamilar with so that was kinda weird to me.

I do look forward to reading more from this writer.

Noelle wins a spot on "House of Swag," a reality show that is looking for the next mega star. She takes it and starts concentrating on her career. She meets different individuals that are associated with the reality show while living in the house. There are some who are in her corner and preparing her to become the next big thing, especially Monroe Chase, the show's creator who seems to have a thing for Noelle, and the chemistry is mutual. Then there are others who will do anything to see her fail. She is determined to be crowned the next Swag superstar and accomplish her life long dream and will let nothing stand in her way.

"Swag" was a great easy read, being that it's a second installment it can stand on its own. The novel was focused on relationships and never giving up your goals and dreams. "Swag" has much swagger but also is full of drama like no other. It will keep you laughing at the same time. I'm looking forward to more good reads from Monica Marie Jones.

I like the story but come on the ending could have been better SPOILER ******why couldn't she get the guy in the end and do her music thing and OMG what she and Monroe did was not sex I was reading blinked one time and it was over. Other than that I like the story and the whole reality thing it was good other than the 2 issues I noted above and that's why I gave it 3 starts.

Monica Marie Jones' passions are impacting hundreds, thousands, and eventually millions. "Swag" - Wow. That book kept me awake and alert with a couple hours of sleep on a 6am flight. She really did an excellent job. She has me waiting in expectation for the next installment of the FLOSS series. Also, the main character Noelle's prayer was beautiful and heartfelt. This is a very special work from a very special talent. Get your copy today!

4.0 out of 5 stars 4.5 STARS...SWAGGING..., September 17, 2009
This review is from: Swag (Paperback)
Noelle Dresden can sing like a bird, but one thing she needs is more confidence in self. Although Noelle's confidence is not what it should be she decides to pursue her dream of becoming a famous singer. Her boyfriend, Jonah, is not very supportive of her dreams and will not commit. However, once Noelle decides to pursue her dreams, Jonah will have to show and prove. Will he be able to support her or will his ego get in her way? Swag by Monica Marie Jones breaks down the story and allows the reader to feel what is going on with these characters.

Noelle's decision to be a house guest on the reality show, House of Swag, changes her life forever. She will get the opportunity to showcase her real talents and gain some confidence. She will also find out what it is like to be pursued by a man other than Jonah. What she did not bargain for in her pursuit of fame was the deceit and games that swirl around the music industry. Will Noelle be able to keep her head above water or will she be consumed by her ambitions? And what impact will her decisions have on her relationship with Jonah?

Swag is a wonderful, contemporary novel that will keep the reader caught up in the storyline. I recommend this novel to all who love an entertaining, fast-paced, current novel

4.0 out of 5 stars What I found on twitter...., July 26, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
From following someone on twitter who follows the author and retweets book information I found this serious of books, and I was not disappointed. I feel like I know these charaters and I can see these things actually going on. I really liked Swag! I was rooting for Noele to go head girl and do her own thing! I was inspired by and proud of the transformation the main character completed. This is a good read and will keep you ready to turn pages to see what happens next! I'm even thinking of letting my friend borrow my phone for a few hours to read it off of my kindle!

5.0 out of 5 stars Some Good Clean Juice!!!, June 11, 2011
I started reading this book at work and Baby let me tell you, very little was heard or done that day. I was pulled along in addiction to the "what's next". I have been reading Monica Marie Jones' material nonstop ever since.
This book made me laugh and cry at the same time. It is an excellent read!

5.0 out of 5 stars Better than expected, June 7, 2011

Amazon showed me Monica Marie Jones, and I thank "them" for that. I was recommended Swag by Amazon, and have no recommended it to friends. The title initially caught my attention and I ended up reading it and the prequel Floss in less than 4 days. Jones has an ability to humanize and create real characters. Her characters have other qualities that make them more well rounded than one would ever expect. The beautiful "barbie on the outside" Di also likes to garden and write, as we found out in Floss... this detail could have been skipped, but made the reader enjoy Di and her struggles to become a better person. With out giving away more, read Swag and Floss... they will make you feel good.
