Book Description

October 1979
An enthusiastic, comprehensive biography in two volumes of Swami Vivekananda. Volume 2 covers starts after his appearance at the World's Parliament of Religions in Chicago in 1893. A brief review of who Swami Vivekananda is: First, he was the most prominent of Ramakrishna's disciples. He came to the U.S. as the representative of Hinduism at the World Parliament of Religions held in Chicago in 1893. His overwhelming success resulted in the founding of a number of centers throughout America, and many believe, the emergence of Eastern philosophy in the West.

Swami Vivekananda's approach to Vedanta is probably the most tuned to the needs of the Western world and in India he is regarded as the great Patriot saint of India for his role in revitalizing India..

This review is from: The Life of Swami Vivekananda (Hardcover)
A fascinating journey into the life of the most charismatic, dynamic and inspirational spiritual leader produced by the world in the last century. Extremely well-written with a number of insightful anecdotes. Swamiji's life is an inspiration to the youth of today and this book certainly generates a deep reverence and awe for this great persona.
