Book Description

July 29, 2005
Ours is a time of profound change that holds the seed of almost unlimited opportunities for those with the vision, courage, and ability to seize them. Swamp Fox Insights dispels the notion that commercializing innovations is a crap shoot - that the only way to be successful is to make a large number of bets and hope for a few monster home runs. Swamp Fox outlines a systematic, risk-managed process to guide leaders in making critical decisions that impact the success of their high-impact companies.

About the Author

For twenty-three years, John Warner has been a manager, advisor, board member, and investor with companies, universities, and non-profits from start-ups to New York Stock Exchange firms in a variety of industries. Mr. Warner has applied the principles outlined in Swamp Fox Insights in many high-impact organizations. He is President of Capital Insights, LLC, a venture capital firm, and from 2000-2005 was Chairman of its most successful portfolio company, Earth Fare, a southeastern chain of organic grocery stores which has grown from one store to fourteen with $100 million in revenue. Mr. Warner shares The Swamp Fox Model through speaking engagements to groups about managing high-impact companies and about how communities can foster their development. He is available on a select basis to consult directly with companies to help them accelerate their growth.

4.0 out of 5 stars Innovation and wisdom, November 8, 2005
By
This review is from: Swamp Fox Insights: Innovation and Entrepreneurship in a Time of Profound Change (Paperback)
John ties the wisdom he's found from being on the boards of several highly successful start ups with the entrepreneurial/economic theory found in some of the best books on the subject in a way that is both very readable and concise. I loved the quotes, and the stories from his own past. A must read for anyone thinking of starting out on their own. Also extremely well referenced, and will lead you to several other great books on the topic. I read it in a Saturday afternoon.
