One of DC's grosser superheroes finally gets a chance to shine on DVD! This is the entire 5 episode 1990 Swamp Thing cartoon! I used to watch this as a child and I totally loved it! The origin of Swamp Thing is shown in the pilot episode and it stays pretty well true to the comics. For this cheap price, it's worth having a part of DC comics history on DVD to enjoy! Now if the live action Swamp Thing show could come to DVD that would rock! This show is great for kids to enjoy and obviously for superhero fans! And especially if you're a real DC Comics or Swamp Thing completist, it's a great addition. Interesting to note that of all DC's superheroes, only Superman, Batman, Aquaman, the Teen Titans, Plastic Man and Swamp Thing have had their own cartoons! (Yes, I know Green Lantern, The Flash, and Hawkman also had shorts made in the '60s too, but not technically a full series.)
Anyway, Swamp Thing is a cool superhero and this cartoon is cool! And has a great theme song lifted from The Troggs' "Wild Thing"! :-)

When I came to the knowledge that all 5 (litterly, the ONLY 5) episodes of the Swamp Thing animated series have FINALLY been released on DVD, I was leaping for joy! I've had the original VHS release of 'The Un-Men Unleashed' for years now, and I had began to wonder if they would ever release the other 4 episodes on an official, reasonably priced DVD (I've seen VCD set's of all 5 episodes end for up to 25 dollars on eBay). So here we have it! This show was loaded with cheezy one-liners like 'You can't mutate a mutant!' or 'That was so bad it turned Swampy green!'. Heh. Watching this makes me think how much fun the guys from Mystery Science Theator 3000 could have with it. It's just so stupid and lame...it's funny as HECK. If your a fan of Captain Planet, Bucky O' Hare (which also has been released on DVD, but in PAL format only, so you'll need a DVD player capible of playing Region2 DVD's), James Bond Jr., Toxic Crusaders, or other silly American cartoons of the 90's, then be sure to pick this DVD up (if it's not sold out that is). You don't need to be high to laugh at its absurdity.

Great dvd. I got in the mail super fast and watched it almost right away.
