Awesome Security DVR,

This review is from: Swann 4 Channel Network Digital Video Recorder (Electronics)
This product has been performing flawlessly and has a great many welcome features such as: volume setting, playback WHILE recording, 4x 8x 16x and 32x fast forward and rewind, motion detection with very detailed settings for sensitivity, and 120 total FPS (30 each channel).
It does have a few disadvantages however, such as no remote and no USB back-up. It's not perfect but for the price, it's the best one I've found yet. I would recommend this dvr.

Had a 4 camera system with DM hard-drive. Went bad, needed a hard drive ASAP, found this one and it fit my needs and was very easy to setup, plug in your camera wires, and power cord and you see image! a bit of a pain to search for images.

I purchased this DVR as a replacement for the cheaper Swann DVR4-1100. The hard drive is very quiet compared the 1100. Motion setup is much better then the 1100, the 1100 was either on or off. It would take me 30 min just to go through the recording for overnight at FF 3X. With this one it caught only motion, not mystery motion.
The software that came with it is OK but does not have very good resolution. I'm using an ATI TV capture card on my computer to get usable pictures. The menu's are OK but would be much easier to run with a remote. All in All it's a nice DVR for the money. |
