This looks just like a real camera and is very easy to install. The only negative is that it showed up in black even though the ad shows white.

The picture might not do it justice. There is a wire that you drill and tuck into the wall. This makes it look more real.

It doesn't look real up close, but from far away, it is pretty convincing. The camera I received wasn't silver, like in the picture. It was black, with a cheap plastic look and feel.

As others have said, it's black. I looked at a lot of fake cameras and like this one because it's exactly the same as Swann's real ones, just without the insides. They even have the "Warranty Void if cut" sticker on the approx. 24" fake wire and a serial number sticker on the unit! No way to tell it's any different than the real one. Easy to install with 3 wood screws, and comes with wall anchors if you have stucco, brick, etc. There is another screw hole on the top so you can change the support post to the top if you want to hang it from the ceiling. Also comes with warning stickers you can put on your windows. The manufacturer did all they can, now I just hope the presence of cameras (I bought 2) will be enough to deter the casual thief.

Up close it does not look to reel. I bought the Panasonic pet cam for $50 some dollars, and get to actually look at my house, get the Pet cam

Amazon needs to change the product stock photo of this item; it does indicate a silver product and it seems that most all customers receive a black one. Main complaints - the black plastic appearance makes it look like junk. Yet from a few paces out the camera looks plenty credible. I could have sworn this camera was supposed to have a phony red blinking light.... These always look much better with red lights. This one however, does not.

It was easy to mount, and if you can find a way to tie the supplied wire in - it contributes to credibility of the product.
