Swanson has done it again!! This item allows you to ensure a 100' wall, made of steel studs, is actually plumb!! Also, you can use this item to balance a level, set a plumb bob, and make all the scribes necessary to notch out your steel studs. Magentic base hold awesome, although the base flange is much larger than the original speed square, which make it difficult to keep in your pouch! Overall worth every penny and then some!!!!!!

I bought it because the edges are wider than the squares at the local home improvement stores. Has better feel and
easier to use. I would have given it 5 stars but mine was not magnetized. I kept it as I currently don't need a magnetized square, but it's not a good indicator of quality control from Swanson, which I never heard of before, except maybe for frozen foods....

Because of the rounded corners, the long leg on this square works great for steel tubing. Also stands up without falling over.
