Swanville, Waldo County, Maine was settled prior to 1810, and was incorporated in 1818 as the 228th town in Maine. This is another of Elizabeth Mosher's meticulous transcripts of vital records. She has included all vital records found in the original town record books, working both from films in Augusta, and from the originals at the town office. Also included are the transcribed contents of a small notebook of 32 pages, containing vital records of Swanville, which has never been filmed and is presently in private hands.
Researchers working on Waldo County, or specifically on Swanville, owe Elizabeth Mosher a vote of thanks. They will find this book an extremely good source.
