Be suspicious,

This review is from: Sway Ultra Violet Sanitizing Wand (Kitchen)
These reviews appear planted. Look at the other things the reviewers rated and you will notice they are all items by Handstands who just happens to be the seller of this product. Hummm coincidence?

All the other reviews are scams.,

These reviews sounded too polished, too contrived. If you go to the reviewers' profiles, you'll find that they seem to review only or mostly products from Handstand. To me, this suggests a company that is unethical and willing to defraud customers. They already have defrauded customers with the charade of reviews, so what is to say the product has more integrity? Caveat emptor.

Great product - works on mold too,

You wonder if a product that kills germs (that you can't see) really works or is just a gimmick. I saw on the product instructions that the UV light kills mold and thought that it would be a good test to see if the wand actually works if it kills mold in our shower (Gross I know. We don't have a lot, but enough that it bugs us).
Apparently, the wand needs a lot more time to kill mold than it does to kill bacteria, so I thought if it can kill the mold we have, I'll feel better that it actually works to kill bacteria that I can't see. We've had a little bit of mold growing in the corners of our shower and have scrubbed and scrubbed with all sorts of cleaners ever since we moved into our house a few years ago but have not been able to get rid of the mold. So here's the test: I set the wand down over the mold area in the shower and left it there (of course I forgot about it, so it stayed on for probably 30-45 minutes before I remembered and turned it off). I didn't have time to scrub it right then, but my wife cleaned the shower a day or two later and the mold came off where the wand was placed. The mold stayed where the wand was not placed. I did the test again in a different location in the shower (mold area was about the size of dime, yuck). I left it there again and forgot about it, so it was probably on the spot for longer than the first test before I remembered to turn if off. Scrubbing immediately afterward didn't get the mold to come off. I then waited a day or two and scrubbed pretty good (without any cleaners) and the mold flaked off. I scrubbed the same on spot that was not covered by the light in the test and the mold remained. So as far as I know, the wand kills mold, and if it can kill mold, it should be able to kill bacteria I'm assuming.

Difficult to turn on,

The auto-safety switch is intended to turn it off if it isn't being used correctly; however, it's often difficult just to get it to turn on at all. Might be a bad switch or might just be how it is.

Really seems to work!,
This review is from: Sway Ultra Violet Sanitizing Wand (Kitchen)
I've got an iphone, and have heard about all the germs that live on your cell phone. I've got an Invisible Shield on my iPhone that was starting to collect dirt and change color, so I figured I'd try one of these. I have to admit, I was pretty skeptical about "waving some magic wand" around my phone and suddenly feeling that it was clean. Well, lo and behold, after waving it on my phone for about 10 seconds or so, a noticed later that day that the discoloration in my iphone started to disappear. My phone suddenly looked cleaner. I was a big skeptic, but this thing works!

Effective sanitizer,
This review is from: Sway Ultra Violet Sanitizing Wand (Kitchen)
If you happen to hate germs, like myself then you should definitely invest in this UV wand. I never knew such a product even existed. What this device will do for you is sanitize, sanitize almost anything at that. The wand uses intense UV radiation waves that kill germs, bacteria, even small insects like dust mites on contact! You simply wave the wand a few times over the desired germ free area and then POW! You are 99.9% germ free! This also has a great built in safety feature that automatically turns off the device when it is rotated on its back, this ensures that you are not harming yourself with the rays. One thing that I use this for is when I travel out of town and have to stay at a hotel. I don't know about you but hotel remote controls scare me! You never know who has used them or what they have been through! These could very well be the most germ infested things known to man. So I simply wave my wand over the remote for about ten seconds to insure that I have zapped those suckers and then I feel good about watching ESPN when I wake up and I don't have to worry about soaking my hands in alcohol.

Never worked properly. When the unit is turned on, it only stays on for about 3 seconds then beeps and turns off. Going to send it back and get some satisfaction somehow.

Its a bit tricky to active light,

The internal safety light switch sometimes makes it time consuming to get the light to stay on, expecially when using it for semi-vertical objects. But overall, its ok. Not sure, but with care, I think there might be some medical use for it too...such as skin infections.

This review is from: Sway Ultra Violet Sanitizing Wand (Kitchen)
I did have to read the directions to turn it on. Hold the button 3 seconds till it blinks, then press the button again. I've put it in my shoes for 30 minutes and immediately noticed the difference. No burning sensation when I put them on. Works perfectly!
