Swaziland 1:250,000 Travel Map (Travel Reference Map)

We purchased this map in preparation for an upcoming trip to Swaziland. We selected this one because it is the only one we could find that detailed Swaziland itself (and didn't just include it on a small scale along with South Africa). The map quality is poor overall. It is printed (one sided) on a large sheet of standard weight paper. I do not expect it to stand up well.

There are many major flaws with this map. For starters, the main roads are not labeled. I had to look things up on Google Earth and then write in the road numbers. Even then, I am still left with many random roads.

The map is also out of date. It is does not reflect a new road that goes by the Maguaga Dam. Also, the roads listed in Mbabane do not reflect recent additions or name changes.

Finally, the colors used to indicate elevation are confusing. It is not a clear color gradient, but instead a weird mix of blues, yellows, reds and greens. You cannot simply glance at it and know what is high elevation and what is low elevation.

I wish I could recommend a better product, but since this is the only map of Swaziland I can find, I am stuck using it despite it flaws.

Just know what you are getting when you buy it.
