5.0 out of 5 stars Great pictures, good stories, June 9, 2005

This is a truly excellent comic book, by the lovely and talented illustrator, Sara Varon. Her pictures are simple and elegant. The stories are non-verbal and compelling in a visceral way. The story about the cat who wants to fly brought me to tears.

5.0 out of 5 stars Sara Varon is a Gem, April 30, 2006

Sara Varon is a delight. With deceptive simplicity, she creates an entire world that is charmingly accessible to both adults and children, yet she never borders on the maudlin. I am delighted to have discovered her work, and this particular collection shows a delightful range. I look forward to future editions of this talented woman's work. As far as her storytelling goes, I place her among the ranks of Crumb and Deitch, but with a drawing style is her own.
