This was the worst Top Shot season so far. The producers seem to be relying on more gimmicks and less on shooting. The contestants seem to have been picked by a marketing focus group with no regard to actual qualification. When somebody wins, I don't get the feeling that they won because they are good shooters. More often, they won because they sucked the least and/or got lucky. The shooters that ARE good don't shine due to the nature of the challenges. In previous seasons, some shooters still managed to shine through all the BS. This season, less so.

Basically, all the usual things wrong with Top Shot just get magnified in this season--more heavy on showbiz, and more light on rigor. I expect the next season to have even more gimmicky weapons, even more watered-down and unrealistic challenge that are difficult for reasons unrelated to shooting ability, and celebrity contestants.

In comparison to the other seasons of Top Shot (seasons 1-3), I had to give it two stars. It wasn't a competition of highly qualified competitive shooters. It was Big Brother or Survivor with high caliber weapons. We didn't start watching Top Shot for the in-house drama. We started watching for the talent of the contestants. If I wanted to watch an hour full of adults whining about alliances and, refusing to vote to send their "friends" home, despite their performance in competition. I'd turn on any one of the numerous reality shows out there. Way to ruin a good show History Channel.

2 groups fighting arguing and in my opinion have nothing to do with weaponry. I wish they would have included some normal people instead of guys who thinks they're a big shoot.

You'll like it if you liked the previous seasons of Top Shot. This season has less exotic and unexpected weapons like throwing knives, throwing axes, arrows. Instead, it keeps to the generally established firearms.

The team drama is also toned down a little from season 2 or 3, where it seemed like it was emphasized through editing room work.

Overall, you get the usual Top Shot challenges, with some familiar faces from past seasons. A good solid show. recommended.

Not a bad season, no drama from the participants which was a first and a pleasant surprise. Wasn't a clear best shooter in my opinion, I liked the guys who made it to the end but in each of the previous seasons their had been someone who stood out more then the rest as the best shooter, whether or not they ended up winning. But all in all it was a good season.

I started watching this with my husband during the first season. I do not shoot, have little interest in gun or weapon lore, but wanted to be fair, he watches chick flicks with me.....Holy Cow!!! I call this my "Gun Soap Opera" I seriously cannot get enough of this show. I don't even like reality TV, but this is just so cool and different and there is always some kind of really funny banter going on. It makes you root for the humble guys and jeer at the obnoxious, vain peacocks. The filming is excellent. It's obvious there are a lot of creative people in putting this show together.
