This is a great set of lessons for learning Swedish. The lessons are well done and do not go too fast. I recommend this book and the cassettes for anyone who wants to learn Swedish.

Wonderful.. almost perfect..,
This review is from: Hugo Language Course: Swedish In Three Months (with Cassettes) (Paperback)
I bought this book, and got really benefited by it. It covers all one would wish to know about Swedish quite well. The grammar, conversations, practice, and all other things are very well laid out.
The only thing that I would say, was not quite well explained was the tonal accent in Swedish. The authors could have just spared a page to explain it. In addition, they could add some extra signs to the imitated pronunciation, like an apostrophe or anything else to make matters clear, as in Swedish, tones are quite important, much more than in Norwegian. I would suggest like this, for example, -"bewren for buren, meaning borne (past participle), and -'buren for buren, meaning the cage (noun). Anyway, all being said, it is a great book.. You should buy it.. |
