I cannot say enough good things about this CD. I bought it when I was preganant and played it regularly. My baby loved it from the week she was born. She is now 9 months and still automatically puts her thumb in her mouth to relax whenever I turn it on. When she wakes from a nightmare screaming, I'll sing some of Toria's lullabies in her ear and she'll immediately calm down. When she was first born, I would have each of my close family members rock her in her room with Toria's music playing. They always walked out of the room crying! It has blessed me and my family so much, and I highly reccommend it!

I am no longer a young mother with a baby, but I bought this CD on recommendation, for myself. I have to say that I am really enjoying Toria Burrell's lullabies. Each time I play the CD I come up with yet another favourite! And I must say they have a calming and soporific effect on me!

I used to sing to my baby, all the lullabies I could remember, and I also used to sing to my younger sister when we were children together, sharing a bedroom! As well as pouring out soothing sounds, the lullaby is a pouring out of love! And I think that is what comes over particularly from Toria's lullabies. Her beautiful voice seems to somehow bring out this great feeling of love between mother and child and you can even feel the warmth of human contact!

When my son was a newborn, I played this CD for the first time and he slept for hours. Since that day Toria Burrel has become a part of our daily routine. Every time I put my son down, either for a nap or for the night, I turn on this CD. It is so relaxing to rock him and listen to these lullabies as I watch my son drift off into peaceful slumber. For my son, this CD means sleeptime, a time to settle and snuggle with Mommy. For me, this CD means precious quiet moments, which I will treasure always. Thank you for a beautiful collection of lullabies that truly capture, in lyrics and melodies, a Mother's love and a baby's beauty.

I bought one CD for a friend with a baby, and one CD for myself. I listened to the entire CD today at work. Gosh, Toria's voice sounded so pretty! You know what she would be perfect for? Those animated movies like "Beauty and the Beast" and "The Lion King". They always pick voices that sing clear as a bell. She sounds like she would be great for that. Her voice sounds real crisp and clean. I loved the tunes. I think it's great for anyone, not just kids.

My first hearing was while I was hopping in and out of the car running tedious errands. When I got home I was relaxed and not stressed, as usual. Second listen was with my 85 and 86 yr. young parents. They both commented, "How beautiful", and shortly Dad was asleep. Next time a 6mos. old was being put to sleep with the CD. No crying, just happy gurgles and then silent sleep. It had to be the lullabies working in all three situations. See! Great for EVERYONE!

Beautiful lyrics, music, and voice. This lullaby cd has all the essentials and has helped my baby go to sleep within just a couple of songs versus having to rock, walk, and bounce. My baby and I can now enjoy naptime and bedtime with the tranquil voice of Toria Burrell. What I love most of all is that the singer is consistent, there is no change of artist from one song to the next. Very important in creating a naptime and bedtime ritual. Now my baby hears the music and knows its time for sleep.

It is obvious that Toria Burrell put a lot of time and effort into producing this CD. The 15 pieces cover quite a range of music and origins. It is awesome to think how talented she is with all three flute, voice and piano and recording special effects. I like the balance between the use of the various instruments. The flute I can relate to the best. I expecially like the excellent vibrato and the use of the lower register.

The voice is excellently done with fine control and expression. This was very appropriately done for lullabies. Also I liked the arranging which she did with obvious skill and sensitivity.

She has made good use of electronic recording tools. Many have mastered the art of mixing and blending many tracks to arrive at a final composition. However, she shows that this can be best be done when you are blending your own individual tracks. A good example is the delicate blending of vibrato.

I would strongly recommend anyone with a desire for soothing, comforting and beautiful music to add this work to their collection.

I wasn't too crazy about the songs in the beginning because they were not familiar. However, my daughter enjoyed it the moment she heard it. I use it for just about everything, long car rides, during nap time and right before bed time. Now I've come to memorize every song. I tried so many failed techniques to get my little one to sleep and since I started playing this right before bed time she is asleep by the time the third song plays, which happens to be our favorite. I can't praise this CD enough, I highly recommend it!

I have never written a review before, but I had to write to recommend this CD. My baby is a very "reluctant" sleeper, and from the first time I put this music on, it made a huge difference in helping him get to sleep. The music is peaceful and beautiful; it even soothes me to sleep! I can't recommend it highly enough. Thank you Toria Burrell!

I don't have any 'newborn' babies to try Toria's lullabies out on, but the music is wonderfully soothing. The album production is polished and professional and Toria's voice sounds beautiful. Forget the kids, I think it could do me some good after a hard day in the office!
