what a shame nobody else has reviewed this great cd of country blues tunes. this is one of the best modern acoustic blues recordings out there. if you like country blues, you cannot go wrong with this. believe me, please.

Cephas and Wiggins capture the heart and raw emotional appeal of the original delta blues sound like no other duo today. Phil Wiggins artful harmonica work matches John Cephas raspy, struggling but altogether genuine vocal style perfectly. No one living captures what made the early delta blues artists like Muddy Water so appealing and rewarding to our souls as well as Cephas and Wiggins.

I am giving this a 4 not because it's a 4, but because it's not my favorite kind of music,A fan of this duo will love this I am confident. Unfortunately we recently lost John and you can bet he & Phil will be placed in the never to be forgotten blues mix with the best of the best. I'll go to my room on this one because it's not fair for me and I am not qualified to review what I feel will ultimately be a Classic piece of Blues for decades to come. I figure after I listen to it enough I will be back buying the rest of their CD's
