I bought this book because of the bloomers on the front cover. I thought it would be packed with cute projects with many ruffles and doo-dads, retro fun for babies. Upon leafing through it, my first thought was "booties and bibs, ho-hum." The title of the book is accurate - this book has plenty of booties. There are bibs, some hats (including a really cute beret) and a patchwork quilt. Nothing in the book inspired me beyond the bloomers and that alone was not worth keeping the book. I'm sending it back and going to keep searching.

This book seemed like it would have a lot of potential but it just failed to inspire me.

This is a cute book and a cute idea. However, I was expecting more unique boutique style pieces, but did not find that here. My book also has some strange layout issues, like someone fell asleep on their job while approving the pages or something. It just skips from "chapter" to "chapter" with no warning or introduction. It is simply odd. The pictures are pretty and the book is in the nice spiral bound/ stay open form, so that is the redeeming quality.
So, what exactly did I get by purchasing this book? 6 patterns for baby shoes, 7 patterns for baby hats, 5 patterns for bibs, 4 clothing patterns (kimono top, non- waterproof diaper cover, bloomers seen on cover, and a tutu), 4 toy patterns, 4 blanket patterns, 1 burp cloth pattern, and 1 bath hoodie. Now, most of these you can find for free on the internet, others are just common sense, and a very few are original designs.
I'll also add that this publisher has an [...] store where they sell the patterns individually.

I saw this book at the craft store and came to Amazon to order it, because the original publisher's price is a bit much, in my opinion. I really like that this book includes the full-sized sewing patterns. However, many of the projects are repetitious, because once you have the basics down, the rest is just a matter of style. It's a decent book to add to my collection.

This book is everything it says it is, right there in the title for the world to see. I was so thrilled at all of the booties! I don't do a LOT of sewing, but I love small projects, and this book was a perfect fit to my needs. I'm one of those people without enough space to leave my stuff set up for any long period of time. When I sit to make things, I need to be able to pick it right up and put it all away when I'm through, and sewing usually doesn't lend itself well to that. I love being able to have fun sewing projects to complete in an afternoon.
